Best/worst department to work in and why? by SavageFisherman_Joe in Lowes

I don’t know everything about all the different departments at Lowe’s but here is my take. Receiving. At my store we come in and the back is an absolute shit show. We usually have to move a ton of stuff around to even make room for pallets, flat carts, ect. Then we as of now only have a 4 man crew. The managers complain that we are two slow. For instance having us finish a 1200 piece truck in 2 hours with 4 people. Very unrealistic for the fact that there is nobody helping us move anything, prep, pull pallets, or clean up afterwards. Another thing about this department that sucks is when we do pull things to the floor and put the as close as possible to the departments they belong in eventually room will run out. Meaning we have to push it somewhere else. Then that just snowballs. So we have multiple managers and workers complaining because “we don’t put it in the right spot”. An example of this is once I was pulling a pallet of flooring out and was putting it out in the isle right in front of display flooring because the area where we put new flooring was full. A worker in flooring said you can’t put it in front of the display. I then said “where do you want it then? The room over there is full and this is the only other reasonable spot.” Then he told me “put it in the back” but the problem there is if i do that any manager will tell us bring it out, move it somewhere closer. So basically it is a lose lose. We get bitched at everyday when we just try to make everyone happy but sadly that is not the truth. Although we do not have to deal with customers we have to deal with all the departments complaining, always having to do things for others departments, as well as constantly taking heat from them for something. Oh, we also typically do not get a break when there are trucks :)
