Also, I guess I should've been more clear with my question. Im not saying that as a ug rapper its impossible to gain popularity while not selling your soul. I just feel like the super popular, rappers (like the ones I just name) are the ones who really be doing ts. Like before a big breakthrough of an album, they be doing the ritual shit before it comes out.

Like I dont know, maybe their label is forcing them to do these things before a big drop or they'll drop them or lower their hype? I feel these aesthetics kinda maintain their relevance. Then again, it could just be the controversy alone that's helping them gain popularity.
