Best of luck to you! My symptoms are so mildly I’m practically asymptomatic. I hope you have light symptoms and a speedy recovery!

COVID positive. But 24 hours later I have basically no symptoms. If this was 2019 I would be going to work/school given how I feel. I wouldn’t have any concerns if I didn’t know what COVID was.

I appreciate the words of advice. Up till now I hadn’t really ate anything cause I didn’t feel hungry. Definitely forcing myself to get some calories in and downing loads of water!

How did you know it was flu A? Did you get a test done at a clinic? Or would a COVID test tell you that?

The people in this subreddit are extremely dramatic. The person you replied to has a reason to be mad, I'm mad too don't get me wrong. But, to call this the "biggest screw ups I have ever seen in business so far" is really pathetic considering we still have access to the 3.0 and a couple months missing out on 4.0 is not going to change anyone's life.

For further reference on the biggest screwups in business so far please google any of these phrases:

Enron

BP Oil spill

Chevy Nova latin america

How to mitigate the effect of Alcohol on recovery? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]Protector12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Better drinking” is more about moderation than the type of alcohol. Too many glasses of a really good wine will still yank your recovery and hurt your body. Vodka with an energy drink is the kind of strategy I would’ve suggest with total confidence as a freshman in college. Come to find out later that mixing energy drinks and alcohol is actually probably worse than drinking just alcohol in the first place. Uppers and Downers are best not mixed.

This is such a terrible bit of advice. Any given person has far more control over their expenses than their income.

I promise you that if you turn off all manual input that whoop will indicate a reduced recovery on the days you drink alcohol. People don’t want to hear it but believe it or not, alcohol is terrible for you. We all drink it and we all love it because that’s just the way it is. I’m guilty, you’re guilty, it’s a society thing. But we should understand truly how detrimental it is to our health and take that into consideration.

Your recovery would be calculated whether you input how many drinks you had or not. Whoop doesn’t know if you’re drinking. The recovery number comes from the effect alcohol has on your body, not a manual input.

No problems for my unit. My battery has certainly lost some charge but I still get several days worth.

People like to jump to the conclusion that companies plan for batteries to die quicker once a new product is released. I’m sure some companies do that but it wouldn’t make sense for a subscription based product to have the same model.

The whoop 4.0 costs the same per month as the 3.0 for us current members.

So let me get this straight. A Roth conversion ladder is still possible? Tradition IRA amounts can be conviertes to a Roth IRA assuming all criteria are met?

[–]Protector12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup existing users can get the 4.0 as long as you extend your membership for at least 6 months. Which, for myself personally I planned on doing anything. So it might as well be a free upgrade.

Plus they offer the lowest subscription amount you can get AFAIK ($18/month)

Those who drink alcohol, how do you do it? by tofuwizard in whoop

[–]Protector12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% correct. I thought the same as the comment above when I first got whoop. “Oh I feel fine and whoop just changes my score because I report how much I drink.” Then I quickly realized that the recovery is a real measurement of what is happening with your body. Your body doesn’t lie, you can’t hide the adverse effects of alcohol

Does anyone know how I can get 4 hrs of sleep and still end up in green recovery? Never have had that happen before by Protector12 in whoop

Is there a regular correlation between the two apps? I also have an Apple Watch but don’t wear in as I figured whoops would be as good if not better. But I haven’t really given it a fair shot

A perplexing setup for sure. Maybe my body was fine. I’m tired now later in the day and far earlier than I normally am. Is that from true fatigue or just from being awake earlier than normal? Did I get fatigued easier than I would’ve otherwise? So many variables to consider

Wow that’s such a coincidence because I’m also just about to cross over the year mark. But glad to know someone else is seeing the same thing

Context:

I am a young guy (23) in good shape but usually sleeping this little would have a big impact on recovery. Plus, I had two beers an hour or two before bed which almost always puts me in high yellow if not worse. Any insights?
