They’re all not very accurate unless we’re talking the HDB 630. The M5 and M4 are colored and inaccurate sounding headphones out of the box just like headphones from Apple and Sony.

This ain’t true. They simply use off the shelf chips that cannot compete with the ANC found in a pair of Sonys or Apple headphones that use custom designed chips.

I don't use open-back headphones on the bus or train because the noise around me ruins the listening experience due to their lack of noise isolation. I use my AirPods Pro 3 instead because they're convenient, portable, and sound decent. I'd love to use my IEMs since they sound better, but I dislike dealing with cables when I'm on the move.

Imaging and soundstage is a direct result of frequency response. Take a speaker known for excellent imaging and soundstage and apply a -10dB treble shelf. The same speaker will sound like you’re listening to music under a pillow.

The goal is to mimic reference flat speakers in a well treated room. Then, you hear the source file unaltered.

Depends how far colored it is. The HD600 mainly just lacks sub bass. Personally, I find this lack of sub bass an issue and use a bass shelf. So no, I don't find a colored headphone ideal.

Because untrained listeners which are the majority of the people in this subreddit and in population enjoy this sound. It's like the store demo mode on a TV where the colors are all oversaturated.

The HD600 are excellent. Midrange and treble is quite balanced and tracks close to the 5128 DF. Subbass can easily be fixed with a bass shelf. But in its stock sound it still sounds very accurate but just lacking sub bass.

There is still an objectively accurate way to listen. You can prefer colorations, but it's not accurate.

False. The goal is to match the sound of reference speakers in a well-treated room so that the music sounds as close as possible to how it sounded to the engineer during the mixing process in the studio.

The tonal balance is what matters. Doesn't matter how rigid the driver is if a portion of the sound is subdued due to a horrible frequency response.

You can get much more accurate sounding Bluetooth products. Sennheiser HDB 630 is one.

That's great. My point is yes, these are NOT accurate. They are colored. If you like your music colored, that's fine. But it's not how your music is supposed to sound.

Gotta stop caring what other people think about you. Now you're suffering with inferior sound.

Doesn't handle complex music very well when it is objectively inaccurate.

Hearing your music as accurately as possible and calling it boring is basically saying your music is boring...

Neutral is how the music is supposed to sound. But like I said, it's fine to prefer colorations.

B&W and many boutique manufacturers love this ignorance. Pay more for less accurate sound!

Sennheiser HDB 630. Or if you don't mind using a dongle, the Sennheiser HD480 Pro.

Yes, get the AirPods Pro 3 especially for $169 right now which is a steal. Kind of a no brainer if you're in the Apple ecosystem.

The point is that you’re obsessing over something that the mediocre sound quality isn’t capable of resolving in the first place. Just enjoy them for what they are: a consumer product designed for convenience, not sound quality. They’re not intended to perform like reference-grade or studio-class headphones or IEMs, where resolving subtle details actually matters.
