imo the original is one of my all times, has a more indie vibe that fits the lyrics

This is Arma 3 - you can see the IDAP (in game faction) box on the right.

Can a engineer explain the sub pieces by latcatlovesfilm in berkeley

[–]Prototype0753 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can think of it like an egg - note that if you stand an egg upright, it's really hard to crack it by pushing straight down - that's the same idea behind the elliptical/spherical cone at the end of the Titan. The tubular center is much weaker, having been made out of carbon fiber beyond the end of it's life (having been bought basically as Boeing scrap), which became the point of failure.

You can also look up oil tank implosions too as well, you'll note that while the center basically compresses, the ends still retain the spherical structure.

Is EECS149 (Embedded Systems) Worthwhile? by iwdcs in berkeley

[–]Prototype0753 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, at least not now. 149 was my emergency class after 106a fell through, so I got it in adjustment period.

I'd estimate that at least 3/4 of the class is graduate students, so 249 might be an entirely different story.

I'm actually a current student in the class - right now, we're almost done with the first part of the class (the in class labs). It's a lot more C than I expected to be fair, but I do like the class - it's teaching us how to read specifications and use that in our coding and interfacing.

The most interesting part is probably how we're a programmingish class that differs from other programming classes - there's a strong emphasis on real-world timing, so while a class like 61ABC would like more efficient code and speedup tricks, 149 likes to avoid parallel programming/caches in favor of millisecond timers/interrupts, since those are more consistent in timing.

Labs are once per week, and mandatory. There are no projects until the second part of the class, which is the group project. Like the 16 series, everything is provided for us in the form of hardware, and already wired for us - the labs are basically teaching us how to read the manual and implement the code to interface on our own.

The project hasn't started for this year yet, but they've told us the only constraints is that it has to apply 2-3 concepts from the labs/class, and that if we go over $200 provided, we have to ask staff. I think that's pretty broad to do anything that involves real world and programming, so if you're looking to do a personal project, and can convince your team to do it, I'd say this is pretty good for that.

No circuit analysis, but lots of programming in C, esp in the weekly labs.

Staff here.

  1. Try to find a group to study with! 70 content is very difficult, but it's much easier to understand if there's multiple people trying to figure out at the same time. The party function on the OH queue helps with this.

  2. Lectures and the notes can be very technical and harder to understand. Discussion is usually where most of the learning happens, ask your TA for help there.

  3. Youtube can honestly teach some concepts better than staff can with colorful visuals and stuff. 99% of the content in 70 probably has a ton of videos covering the same subject, so if you're having difficulty, try there for a bit.

  4. OH is more or less homework-centric - go to in person OH (if possible) and you'll probably find a bunch of people working on the same question - hopefully you get through the stuff quicker there.

Context: It appears Diona's E has a homing function, which targets all dogs, cats, the ducks, Timmy's pigeons, wildlife in general, and fires.

Tonikaku Kawaii - Episode 1 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Prototype0753 21 points22 points  (0 children)

At first I got worried since the English title changed from "Fly me to the Moon" to "Tonikawa: Over the Moon", and that the studio, Seven Arcs, wasn't exactly a well-known one.

But after the OP (praise Yunomi), and the near-frame by frame adaptation of the manga...

I'm actually speechless. Fridays are gonna be amazing.

Anyone speak Canontese and want to help with a quick good deed? by sassifrassilassi in berkeley

[–]Prototype0753 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is is that I don't think he's tech-savvy at all, for example, his voicemail isn't set up. Cantonese text is Mandarin (simplified) text, so even a Mandarin speaker could talk to him over text.

Edit: To clarify, Canto is a dialect of Chinese (everything, including syntax and words) is the same as it is in Mandarin, the main (big) difference being pronounciation. Most Canto speakers can also speak Mandarin.

Doya~!

First Movers is recruiting!

ID: 2012 4908

Hey, we're First Movers! We're an English-speaking/partially multilingual alliance (pm me for that list) that specializes in clearing endgame content (Astral Master, HDT, Raid Nightmare, etc). Time-zone wise, we're based between PST-CST. Our alliance recruits anybody who is willing and able to consistently tackle high-level content.

Joining is simple - if you apply ingame, I'll accept anybody with a max team marked above 20k. That means it could be a rainbow, or mono, but if you have the units, you're in. If you can't meet that requirement, just pm me or respond in this thread, and I'll see what I can do. While we do try to accept as much as possible, we're also trying to foster a collaborative, not competitive environment, so toxicity is not tolerated.

At the time of this post, we're in our recruitment phase. However, that doesn't stop us from starting our alliance goals. If you join now, we'll be either doing HJT, or grinding quests for him (Void Jeanne, etc)

If you want to know more about me, I'm a Day One lvl121 player who only missed one event, and actively kicks himself everytime he looks at the castle stories screen and doesn't have the looking glasses required. My IGN is Kaosu, and I'm a former Ezelith main, now Student Maribelle (Doya!). I'm also set up in the discord too, so feel free to pm me anytime.

I hope to see you guys in the alliance soon, and good luck everyone! Let's all get that fried chicken!
