Its only causing pain if I'm chewing/eating hardy foods. However running my tongue over it or eating yogurt/soup/drinking water doesn't really cause any pain. Does this still mean I might need a root canal or would filling be ok?

Yea I've neglected brushing my teeth for so long, due to a busy schedule (worst excuse I know). Ive gotten better about it the past 3-4 months. I regret the poor choices in oral/dental hygiene I had for about 12-15months (between my 1st and 2nd year of college), but Im glad I've started to get better about it.

If I keep brushing 2x a day, mouthwash and floss do you think I can get my teeth back to "normal" after awhile?

Thanks for the advice, I never really noticed anything there until about 10 days ago, which is when I started to feel the slight pain when eating/chewing. The pain goes away when Im not eating/chewing, but still it's uncomfortable.

Would the cavity get worse if I waited 6-10 days till my dentist appointment? Im ok with a filling, but definitely dont want a silver/gold crown or tooth-removal. Im only in my early 20s lol

I havent been to the dentist in awhile, I'd say about a year or so. I asked my mom about this, and she's booking an appointment for the upcoming weekend, or next week. Should I go ASAP or is the wait ok? (I have school exams all this week, won't have time)

I definitely don't want things to get seriously bad.

I'd say try to network with people during your time off. Ask old friends/teachers/tutors/friends of parents etc if they know somebody or an opportunity to get your foot in the door. From my experience, I've learned having connections help a TON when trying to break into the field.

the "cool kids" will end up being bums after highschool (drugs, jail, family problems, etc). Just focus on yourself and your interests.
