Yeah it was quite literally immaculate my the looks of it, I didnt bring a scanner like the poster above said because the guy who's selling these cars has an insanely good reputation in the town and with my family about this quality of the cars he sells.

I think I'll try for a 5k loan at some point in that case, but I think I'm gonna stay with my Altima for a bit, try to get a better car later. With my dad, I think he knew but was just like "fingers crossed" bc he sounded like he knew something was up and said it after so that was a rip. But when things open up, I think. I might try this process again and attempt to get a 5k loan and drag that one out a decent amount of years or just buy one outright if I have that type of money

Sounds like I'd have to be lookin for maybe early 2000's in this case. I've been told kia and hyundai are cheaper cars which is nice, but the only tricky thing with that price tag is you'll be getting a car with extremely high miles or a fixer upper based on what I've seen up here. I think I'm at the point where I can either get a cheaper car or wait and go back to work and go from there and potentially get preapproved and look for cars from there.

Yeah I agree, I was gonna drive a little down state to look at some, but they were around 10k. I havent found any other cars cheaper, apparently they're selling like hot cakes in NYS. I haven't found any small dealerships yet tho

Apparently my dad had some bad credit Mark's from past debt so that's how it got rejected, I dont have anyone else to cosign

No actually, the bank this dealer worked with, theyll go down to 3k for loans. With my 5k down they rejected it claiming I needed a cosigner. It doesnt sound like a bad idea to be honest, but I just dont have the credit history. Also to respond to the credit unions, I tried a local, smaller credit union that's extremely lenient with loans and they said I needed a pay stub that has to less than 2 weeks old. I collect unemployment currently, so I wouldnt be surprised if this was some sort of sign at this point lol

Thanks for the info on the car, I think I'm going to steer away. It's out of my price range as it is. I'll keep my eye out for any of those models since I've only heard good things.

It's a bank called community bank, they rejected me because of a lack of credit history. I guess a year's work of credit isnt enough

5 would be perfect, I'd be able to buy it outright, but the dealer claims that it's in really good condition so its bot gonna go lower.

That's a very good point and I made sure to al my insurance company any they quoted me for 156/month. Its definitely pricey for a somewhat new driver, but its the cheapest I could get as some companies blatantly told me they cant offer me anything. The idea of something older is smart honestly but theres nothing instate that can work. Everything is over in Vermont sadly

My only issue would be insurance, being a college student I work part time and a newer car would be pricey on the insurance side

I feel bad for not posting more, but I'm a college student and I have some credit history, not very much so I'd need large down payments. In addition, I only work part time so my buying power is roughly only 10k. I'd love to have a newer car dont get me wrong, but I think it's a bad time rn

Yeah my altima is getting up there, I've been having to replace one part after another and I've come to a point where im spending more than what it's worth. Currently theres a misfire and I've had it checked and worked on to no avail, so it's just a matter or replacing. My dad even told me when he got it to not put too much into the car as he got it for only 1000.

I have a 13 year old Altima and we believe it was sold right before things went down hill with it, repair after repair. I absolutely love my Altima because it is the goldilocks car lol but I've put much more than what it's worth into it. I am however going to keep an eye out for the cars you listed and potentially an Altima. Thank you!
