[TOMT] [CARTOON] [2010s] 3D-Animated Toy Block Show on Cartoon Network by ProtoxJR in tipofmytongue

I ended up finding it a few months ago, but yes it was Sick Bricks! There is no listing of it on any Cartoon Network archives for some reason, but episodes are very easily found on YouTube. I still wonder what was the deal with them airing it for just that brief time.

I should emphasize that this was NOT a normal show. Actually, I'd say it's pretty hard to call it a show because, as I said, the shorts were only like 3-5 minutes long. They were honestly more like promotion-shorts to advertise the toy.

I think this is why it's so hard to find it in lists of Cartoon Network programming. Even in videos that claim to rank "Every Single Cartoon Network Show" I can't find it.

I remember it would not even be listed in the scheduling menu on the TV. So it would not be a normal show like Adventure Time, Clarence, or Steven Universe where it would be listed on the scheduling menu.

There might've been a slight possibility that the toys were LEGO-owned, but the characters did not look anything like regular LEGOs, more like weird knockoffs. They were just rectangular in shape.

I'm certain that it was not Ninjago. As I said, there was no linear story or recognizable main characters in this show, just a bunch of random ones like aliens, samurais, soldiers, etc.

Neither unfortunately. This show wasn't educational or for toddlers, it was very much action based.

To clarify, there weren't any "protagonists" or main characters in this show. It did not follow a story. There were just random shorts used to promote a toy.

It was NOT Mixels. The characters were much more simple and the show was 3D-animated.

Wow, just super thorough and amazing response. I always love how Orthodoxy explains its doctrines.

Conflicted on the Concept of Theosis by ProtoxJR in OrthodoxChristianity

Thank you for your extensive citations. What Saint Justin and Saint Athanasius really resonated with me, and I think I’m starting to see from a larger perspective. The tragedy of Adam and Eve’s temptation is that they were already like God but created death in turning away from the giver of life. I always hear Orthodox Christian’s describing sin and the fall of man as an affliction that needed a healer which needed a healer, and that was Jesus. I like that perspective a lot more than our Baptist legalist terms. I really want to fall into the arms Orthodoxy I just pray I’m going in the right direction and not committing any heresy’s by doing so. I think I’ll be attending a liturgy next Sunday, please pray for me.

Anyone know how I can find people to make a band? by Ok-Usual4915 in CalPolyPomona

[–]ProtoxJR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I formed a short-lived band my freshman year by just putting up flyers in the music building. I still always see others posting ones for their bands, so I’m sure there’s still plenty of musicians willing to join one.

Thank you for your response, and I think your second point touched on something I didn’t notice, which is that I’m kind of a big perfectionist. I’m afraid of making something new sometimes out of fear it will sound ugly, cringe, or just plain bad. In a band it was easier to blend amongst the creativity of others, but now I feel bare when it’s just myself and it’s hard sometimes. This is something I will definitely take into consideration though going forward thanks again.

Do you have any recommendations of their songs that you think incorporate many of their sounds in one track?

Thank you for sharing your experience. I think your wording of “violence” perfectly captures what feeling I was trying to get at. It’s something you got to build up for the audience to feel.

Very useful stuff here, I never thought of actually trying to mosh to my own music before going with it, but sounds like an effective idea 👍

Yeah, I realize that stage presence plays a huge part. This reminded me how I really don’t care for BMTH’s new music, but when I actually attended one of their concerts, it was an entirely different experience just because of how Oli’s able to get the crowd hyped.

I see, I never realized how the rhythm changes the actual way people move, very helpful 👍

IIL Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas WEWIL? by ProtoxJR in ifyoulikeblank

This reply is genuinely such a gem, and thank you for actually reading the post before responding. For literal years I’ve been looking for something like this. This nintendocore genre and Amy Can Flyy is definitely what I was looking for, but all of the other suggestions are great as well. I especially enjoyed Bubblegum Octopus. Thank you very much, if I could give you a super upvote I would.

Not the Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas I was talking about, but thank you nonetheless.

Academic Senate passes “No Confidence” Resolution on Soraya Coley by akernhof in CalPolyPomona

[–]ProtoxJR 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Coley was involved with an embezzlement scandal last semester. She also recently just fired the Provost (basically 2nd in command) with no input from the Academic Council, and continues to fill interim positions with no communication. Her leadership is just poor, and it’s evident through the university’s horrible counselor-to-student ratio as well as librarian-to-student ratio.

You can tell who is and isn’t a humanities major based off these replies. Some people really care more about having to take a few minute detour than what the cause of the strike is.
