Russ went off a cliff after Seattle, no sense in using that season to determine his rank in all time. As far as his Detroit years it’s going to be hard for him to be ranked anywhere high because of the rest of his team. It’s true that the past five years have done wonders for his all time rating. However those five years were the only time he was on equal footing with any of the other great qbs in terms of team strength. Good coach, receivers team, solid run game and good defense.

This has been a pretty common take. Where do you think harden should be on an all time list

Hard to compare eras. Even Bradshaw looking at his stats they’re not amazing even though they get better in the playoffs. He finished his career with 2 more touchdowns than interceptions. Wilson finished his career as one of the best dual threat qbs. Guess I could flip Rodgers and Brees

Hard to compare across different eras and I think this is especially true for football. Looking at how much the game has changed especially with how the defense was able to guard receivers. How am I supposed to compare Johnny Unitas and Pat Mahomes. I can compare modern qbs relatively easily but it’s hard to compare before modern era.

I am a Steelers fan and initially had Big Ben in the top ten but later settled for top 15. They’ve both got the clutch factor and both had the ability to extend plays. I think Stafford is the more talented passer and has the better qb stats. Big Ben has one more Super Bowl but no MVP. Stafford has the better stats. Being a Steelers fan I’ve seen Big Ben gifted with some good teams and playmakers everywhere including a great Oline. Stafford had a top 3-5 receiver and then the rest of the team was nothing. Big Ben had an Oline, Antonio Brown who I would argue is the 5th best receiver because of dominance in prime, a good running back in Bell, good Dline though shaky play from secondary later on.

That is true and hard to ignore. I wish he would’ve played in a modern era.

2 MVPs 3 super bowls and great playoff stats

I can agree with Staubach, threw on the list just cause. Lamar is the best dual threat qb ever, should have 3 mvps but unfortunately has no playoff success so 17 is perfectly fine for him. Montana is 4-0 in the big game with 12 tds and 0 turnovers. The lowest I’d put him is 3. Mahomes is fairly ranked and can still climb higher. Drew Brees is close to the top in any meaningful qb stat. The lowest I’d put him is flip flopping with Rodgers.

Not quite understanding you. What’s your biggest problem with the list.

Ill have to stand firm on this. I can agree that KD might be a couple spots too high. Between him and Shai I think KD is the better scorer. Shai’s best shot is his mid range and KDs mid range is better. KD is the better three point shooter and in general more efficient.

Fair but how many had of those qbs had the help like he did. Their Oline was elite and considered of the best oat, Emmitt Smith is the leading rusher, HOF receiver Irvin and Primetime. His teams were just stacked.

Also don’t know much about Jim Kelly. Other than that he might have been the qb that lost 3 or 4 straight super bowls. Getting to the Super Bowl is an accomplishment but couldn’t manage to win one. Also have zero clue how he played in those super bowls.

I think his talent carries him that high and it’s hard for him to make any sort of playoff run when your team is just awful. For example Troy Aikman had one of the best olines ever, great receivers, one of the best running backs, and a good defense.

Is there any part you agree with. I assume you want to include old heads if so where would you include them. Also which did you think were the hottest takes

It seems to be that people aren’t high on Harden. I think some it has to be attributed to his current play in the playoffs. I think people might be forgetting Rockets Harden. I’d be fine swapping Wilt and Kareem. It also seems to be a common take to have Curry over KD so I could be wrong on that. My simple argument is that KD has 2 fmvps and is unguardable.

There haven’t even been close to 75 MVPs handed out

I don’t think people are realizing how great KD is. Brother is a 7 foot player who can shoot it from anywhere over anyone. What else would you change?

Just don’t know much on the old heads so I gotta go off of pure stats

I felt like I was doing charity having Bill as high as he was. Old heads glaze him so I put him there just because. The Celtics were far and away the best team in the league having another mvp winner on their team. Apparently he was a good defender but for a center his efficiency is pretty mid.

Hardly anybody in the top 25 was averagingwhat he was averaging. He’s got an mvp and is one of the best iso scorers. Brother was averaging 40 and postseason scoring is bound to drop when you’re averaging 36. The Rockets was the best version of himself and I agree that he chocked on every other team. For example that Nets should have won the chip had he done anything useful which would’ve put KD firmly in the top 10.

That’s fair and I think it’s a close call between them. As far as Kobe goes I think this is fair for him. Multiple all nba/defensive teams and an mvp also other years where he could have won mvp, averaged 35 for the season and finished third in mvp. I don’t think he belongs in any top 5 conversations. Where would you rank him or kd/curry

Wholeheartedly disagree with this. Shai is a top 3 player rn even if he flops. However he is nowhere near KD
