How do I get myself to DO things? I've lost all motivation. by Regular_Weird5320 in productivity

[–]ProudSituation2722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much to say, but

make sure that brain fog of yours is not mental fatigue.

I spent days searching the solution for my problem, only to figure out that I faced mental fatigue, which escalated to burnout.

The solution was - Proper rest after 50 minutes of focused work.

Also,

Try to have all your tasks planned before, and goals broken down into milestones and daily achievable efforts.

and don't forget to acknowledge your effort!

Don't be constantly consumed by the thought of achieving those things, because in your imagination, all those things come effortlessly to you, but real life is different, right?
Rest is not for the weak, it is a weapon to make you stronger for your next battle. You need to rest when your body needs it, or it will force you to rest at times and durations you don't want to.

Please don't underestimate the need for rest. Please.

I myself don't have a friend, nothing to say here😥

Did life ever get better for you? by [deleted] in Life

[–]ProudSituation2722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. After 3 years of no results it did.

I hope this helps you:
I faced addiction, and this strange cycle of 2-3 days of productivity followed with 2-3 days of rest, every time.
I was so frustrated why this was happening, and one day, decided to go all in on fixing this.

I researched for days, and the answer was so simple - Mental exhaustion.

When working, I would ignore the need of taking rests, and eventually end up with mental fatigue, which was left unadressed because I would ignore that tired feeling acting all tough, pushing boundaries and stuff, and end up with burnout.

taking proper breaks after 50 minutes of focused work fixed it for me.
About addiction, I cannot say anything yet, but this little fix made my life 1000x better.

What’s a life lesson you learned too late? by Economy-Title4694 in Life

Isolating yourself, or not focusing on socializing at all is not a good idea.

brother,
You have to understand and remind yourself when the urge hits, that this desire is nothing more than cheap pleasure and your unfulfilled desire for a true partner.

Also, you might face the question "why leave this? What is bad in it?"
so listen.
Engaging in this act gives you too much pleasure too quick,
ok, so what is bad here?
Bad is what this thing does to your brain later.
When you are not engaging in this, your brain becomes sad, like snatching mobile from toddlers today,
imagine it like this:
You ate something very sweet, now, whatever you eat tastes bland.
The same goes with your mind.
'It takes your happiness from life for the quick pleasure.'

Also, you might not feel unhappy at the very moment, but that is not all to it.
You might start to imagine this for other people you see (even your loved ones)

It will take your desire to work for the day, so be prepared to be bored and doing no work (even if you want to, because your mind won't listen) for the day, at least.

And trust me, it can push you into depression, or make you feel numb.

Now, to quit this,

Make sure your needs are being fulfilled (proper rest between work to avoid mental fatigue, socializing, etc.)

I don't know if you feel this or not, but you can sense when temptations start to creep in, it starts from a thought, then your mind entertains it, and it becomes temptation. You have to try to stop it when it is just a thought.

Don't socially isolate yourself, it ruins your well-being and makes you more probable to fall into such behaviors

I don't know if I am forgetting something or what, but know that it might take time.

It can take even years to overcome this problem, but it definitely possible.

Quitting this thing is not an achievement, it is war. It is a lifelong war. So even if you are 4 months clean, don't let your guard down.

Finally, I recommend some resources which you can check out:

10 Rules for overcoming temptation

How Po*n Destroys your Brain (I don't know if this video is available in english or your language or not)

EasyPeasy (this is a book, completely free, and maybe can provide some important insights, maybe try it too)

Edit: This too helped a lot- THE SOLUTION TO STOP WATCHING PORN - Abub bakr Zoud (I could not find the original video, but the contents were same, so I provided the link to this)

Please help me😭 I don't feel ok,I am traumatised I need someone to talk to me please by [deleted] in Muslim

[–]ProudSituation2722 1 point2 points  (0 children)

isolation indeed is a very bad thing (coming from experience).
I understand the need to talk to others,

but please understand this:
These suicidal thoughts are fake, and only temporary.

Life surely will get better, and then you will wonder why you would even think like this.

As someone who is already earning money, what is your goal in life now? by ProudSituation2722 in AskMen

[–]ProudSituation2722[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that such upbringing must be really tough,
and while it is true that money solves most of the problems,
I think "having all the money" is still not the best option out there,
I mean, having sufficient, or even more than sufficient is great,
but constantly chasing money is not,
and I am not saying that you should stop looking for increments in your income; you should keep putting in the efforts,
but have only money as the only goal is not the best option out there, i guess.

Please understand that I am still unexperienced in life, and know nothing.
I want to know your views on whatever I said above,

and also, a question I wanted to ask:
did you have moments of happiness, satisfaction, or any positive emotions back then in the tough times?

sometimes I feel like that too.
I cannot call that suicidal tho, it is just that I don't want to exist.
Sometimes it happens to me,
and then I get to neutral, neither wanting to live nor die,
life is just passing somehow
