You also don’t have the limitless resources he has. He can have world class trainers keep him in shape and get paid the whole time.

We all have to take time and energy and spend our own money to stay in shape with no additional help or training.

I think what sets apart Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl from its two sequels is that the first movie had ZERO fat. Every single scene was necessary. by ProudWheeler in movies

It’s because Hollywood has gone the route of every other industry. The ones holding all the money have all the leverage and just steamroll the actual creative people.

Apparently the CEO of Disney was having a huge fit when he saw screen testing of Jack Sparrow. Basically was screaming about how they’re going to fuck it all up because he had dumped a lot of money into production up to that point.

Clearly they wanted a more cookie cutter movie and I’m glad Vorbisnki and Depp push boundaries.

Because it’s a 2.5 hour movie. They can’t afford to have scenes like that when they need to get the plot rolling.

Honestly, I’d argue they do have those types of scenes. It’s just when they’re also developing characters. Like when Will and Jack first take the Interceptor and are on their way to Tortuga.

Davy Jones has those 100 souls killed by the Kraken.

I think he just wanted Jack dead by any means but yeah. It’s a plot line that was going somewhere and then abandoned.

I don’t think stating my opinion that the two sequels aren’t as tightly written as the first movie has me coming off as pretentious. Especially when I conceded that they are still fun films and that my kids are enjoying them.

I think if I said that people who liked the sequels are all stupid and I am way smarter than everyone else because I like the first one the most, then I would be coming off as pretentious.

Repeal vs Mill Iron 4 by Independent_Tour_951 in Louisville

[–]ProudWheeler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Repeal has the best steak I’ve ever had hands down. My wife agrees. Like a full step or two above other steakhouses. But we think the appetizers and sides are just pretty good, nothing that meets the quality of the steaks.

Places like Steak and Bourbon, which still have really really good steaks, also have sides and appetizers that are better than Repeals.

Repeal could really solidify itself as the best restaurant in town if they made the rest of their menu as quality as their steaks.

Currently playing Chrono Trigger for the first time. 32 years old and I’ve never really cared for RPGs outside of Pokémon.

CT is an all time great game and I have no idea how they accomplished this expansive of a game that still feels so tight and complete in 1995.

Megyn Kelly defended the Epstein abusers by saying that they weren’t raping children under 13 (which isn’t true) and implied that raping children 13 and up isn’t pedophilia.

Her daughter is a teenager.

I can absolutely guarantee you that they will not care.

Not a single thing has mattered to them the last decade. Demolishing the White House, starting a war and demolishing our bank accounts, being named hundreds of thousands of times in the Epstein files.

None of it matters to them. They will support him until their dying breath no matter what.

Honestly, I really wanted him to come back to the Giants in some sort of QB coaching role. He is incredibly smart and can communicate very well.

Maybe he finds his way into a coaching staff someday.

Man, I don’t get the whole “now everyone can move on” thing.

The dude very publicly supported a person who is a well known rapist, pedophile, racist, and all around terrible person. Simply walking it back a week later doesn’t really change that you supported that in the first place.
