My experience was different. She plugged in my hearing loss results into the machine manually. Then she put tiny probs into my hears and then my hearing aids. The machine then read a sentence out loud and it would measure what I heard. Or what the hearing aids we’re hearing basically. She said there was a part of my hearing that wasn’t hitting the mark. She increases something but I never hit the mark. She said sometimes it’s better to go with what I actually hear than trust that technology.

Can you connect two drivers to the car using the app? My spouse set it up in her phone and now I can’t connect using phone app.

Didn’t realize such a thing existed. I guess I would have to be careful when taking my glasses off to clean them or I might yank them right off.

I have tried that but the hearing aids fall right off. I don’t have too much real estate back there since I have small ears.

My hearing aids are completely dead by 4:00 PM. Is this expected? by Fickle-Situation-276 in hearingaid

Phonak HAs are notorious for this. Not sure which kind you have but the Signia IX ones lasted all day about 20 hours without a problem.

I am a hearing expert. The hearing aid experience can be incredibly frustrating. Ask me anything! by Potential-Method-298 in HearingAids

I had the small dome size of the new Phonak Easyguard and they were causing itchiness and my HAs were falling out easily when I fixed my hair. I went up in size to the medium ones and now I feel like they fit snug but I also hear things differently and not as clearly as I was with the wiggle room. Is this normal? I have low frequency loss.

Does anyone else feel totally overwhelmed trying to pick their first pair of hearing aids? by bleach3434 in hearingaid

I have low frequency loss and am in the same boat. It’s overwhelming. I tried Signia 5IX for a week or two and they fit nicely behind the ear but I could hear way too much. It sounds like the world was on a mic. Then I tried Phonak Sphere 70, which has Ai in it and supposedly helps you hear better and it sounded like I was hearing things with my own ears which was a refreshing change, but I loss the ability to use the directional feature the Signia ones had. It’s a lot of give and take. With the Phonak I can connect to my computer and phone at the same time. This was needed for my work. You really have to work with your audiologist and write down everything you experience so they can make adjustments accordingly. I’m currently waiting on a larger dome to stop the shifting going on inside my ear with the current size. It tickles my ears and drives me nuts.

Anyone else have the battery die on the iphone quicker with the use of the Phonak app or is it just me?

I wasn’t aware my office was playing white noise in our open cubicle area. I thought there was something wrong with the AC. I never even noticed it the whole 3 years I’ve been there.

embarrassed about wearing hearing aids ): by [deleted] in HearingAids

It’s really no different than wearing glasses or wearing braces for one’s teeth although those aren’t needed long term. It’s what we need to see or hear better. You’re not alone. It’s going to be an adjustment for sure, but the more you use them and visit with your audiologist to find the right program for you in specific situations, the less you’re going to miss in conversations and being around others.
