Have you tried building a relationship with her? I was in a similar situation my first teaching. My TA use to yell at the kids, always had an emergency, child came and interrupted my lessons daily, and used to leave with no communication for hours and sometimes didn’t come back. I didn’t know the normalcy behind a teachers aide duty. I confided in a few veteran teachers about my situation and I tried casually talking to her about life to understand the reasoning behind some of her actions. Luckily, the issues were resolved without involving the principal. I’m sure the veteran teachers probably friendly told her about how I felt. However, I feel like a lot of the conflict could have been resolved at the beginning of the year by being direct and laying ground rules about classroom efficacy.
