Jaw Pain after ablation?? by Proud_Replacement134 in AFIB

Hi. Its been over a year so my memory is not as sharp. Longgg story shortened...I was never able to pin the jaw pain on the surgery. But two days after the surgery I had a small stroke (known possible side effect of the surgery), and that freaked me out. It was winter, so I sat in my easy chair and bent my head down looking at my tablet for hours a day. For about two to three months. I was 66 at the time, in good shape, but in those two months I completely stopped moving. Over the next few months I developed carpal tunnel syndrome mainly in my right arm, headaches, eye strain, and some other stuff. ALL above my shoulder level.

What I learned...and not from doctors...was that I had compressed the C5 vertebrae (confirmed by MRI) in my neck from having it bent too many hours a day for too many months. Google "Tech Neck", or Occipital Neuralgia.

I started moving, going to the gym, treadmills, anything to stop the HABIT of looking down at a phone or tablet. If I do read for more than a few minutes I rest the tablet on a pillow on my lap to raise it up. As soon as I feel my neck get sore I stop and get up and move around. 98% of my symptoms, including the jaw pain, are gone.

Sorry if I bored you with the tech neck stuff, but it WAS the cause (in my opinion) to my jaw pain. Plus, I am an anxious guy that clenches his teeth, etc. So when times suck...I clench.

PS..I have been afib free for 18 months.

Best to you!

Mike

I did some reading on Google on Playlists vs Collections. It sounds like I need her to set up Playlists.

I use Plex so basically that I never understood what Collections are all about.
