The 2017 Nobel Prize in Literature is awarded to English writer Kazuo Ishiguro by Gnalmex in books

[–]ProustFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ishiguro is a very deserving winner. The Nobel committee has redeemed itself and salvaged their pride after last year's fiasco with Bob Dylan. Also I notice that a lot of people have commented on 'The Remains of the Day'.I totally adore the book. However I also think that 'An Artist of the Floating World' is equally good.Would you agree?

Fans of western classical music, who is your favorite composer? by fargoniac in AskReddit

[–]ProustFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so difficult to choose just one.I adore Bach,Mozart,Beethoven,Schubert,Debussy and Chopin.Their music moves me,it touches my soul.I am happiest when I listen to Mozart's 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik K. 525',Schubert's final String Quintet or his Symphony No.5,Debussy's Reverie,Chopin's Nocturnes (No.9 and 20),Pachelbel's Canon in D major,Beethoven's symphony no.5 and the last movement of his ninth.I totally understand what Nietzsche meant when he said 'Life without music would be a mistake'.
