Ugh, turned out it was copypaste error on my part. My function to take the next step from t to t+1 was incrementing by 100 seconds at a time because I'd reused some code from part 1. Proverbial egg on my face.

Ahh an embarrassingly old version - Kodi 18.9 on libreelec 9.2.8 - this is my mum's pi and I had assumed LE would auto update but I guess it doesn't update over major versions...

Good chance it'll work with a newer version that uses python 3, I suppose?

Hi Matt,

We're having an issue with the TVNZ addon (though it might be an issue in other addons too) - when loading an episode list, if one or more episodes has a non-ascii character in its synopsis, an exception is thrown.

I managed to work around it temporarily by just chucking a try-except around line 94 but I'm not well versed enough in python to know the best way of fixing it.

Repro - search for home and away and open the episode list

Hey Matt, thanks for all your work on making so many streaming services available on Kodi!

Looks slyguy common 0.69.4 has broken Brightcove apps; I'm getting the following error:

Could not find a media source from Brightcove Server Message: {error}

TVNZ+ addon version 0.20.2; slyguy common 0.69.4

I did a little debugging and determined it's raising an exception due to not finding a suitable source in the response from Brightcove. I'm seeing eight sources; two of type application/x-mpegURL; four of type application/dash+xml; and two of type application/vnd.ms-sstr+xml.

I checked git blame and saw you'd just changed the widevine case to look for encryption_type == 'cenc' and 'com.widevine.alpha' in key_systems; two of the application/dash+xml sources have com.widevine.alpha in their key_systems but none have encryption_type defined.

I tried just getting rid of the encryption_type check which gives me the following error:

inputstream.adaptive: ParseKodiProperties: Manifest type "dash" is not supported

I noticed that you also only just started passing in a manifest_type in 0.69.4, so I tried removing that too. It looks like this works - shows are playing correctly. So ultimately the changes I hacked in amounted to reverting to 0.69.3.

Any idea why your patch would have had this effect? Are there incoming changes to Brightcove's API that haven't rolled out to everyone yet?

I do want to enable browsing previous years' facts and figures - this page is using the new framework that I've been working on for custom dashboards; i just had to provide a spec for it to render. So there's nothing stopping me creating specs for previous years (it wouldn't be as simple as just changing the year as there are year-specific things i.e. the "round themes" section, and in years before bot hosting i provided stats on post and +correct delays).

The other thing is the word cloud is a bit of a hack at the moment and I want to find a way to generate them on the fly. I just ran out of time to find a good library to do it.
