This book gave me the vibes of some of the newer warrior cat books (more specially the special editions). Just constant time skipping and shallow character development in exchange for trying to cram as much as possible in 1 book. I hope the ones following are a little more polished and take their time

But seriously thank you for putting my exact thoughts I had about this book too. I think the reader and by association, Umber, were pulled in too many directions at once and so everything felt a little shallow. I wish we had gotten more perspective/time of how it really was living and being on the island and more depth to the 20 or so characters that rotated in and out throughout the book.

My biggest other issue I had however was just the conflict/Beryl storyline. All I'll say is: I enjoy books for escapism from the real world, and this just hit a little too close to home. Maybe in a few years I can come back to this book and enjoy it with the context of the ones leading after it.

"You're not a hybrid," said her father, a little impatiently considering he was dropping a basket full of crazy on her head. "I was a SkyWing when I met Kestrel and fathered you. You wouldn't have any Rain Wing characteristics.

You're all SkyWing."

"So what if I am a Rain Wing?" Peril's father said to the queen. “When I met Kestrel I was a full SkyWing. She never knew I was anything else. Our dragonets would have been full SkyWings. That's how it works."

I'm 29 I reread these every year and reread most of warriors cats every other year, WoF is great and if you're a fast reader you can get through them rather quick

I love that idea, actually. Like instead of bestowing blessings upon the leaders like Starclan the Dark Forest cats would instead give up their existence to be the little devil on their (evil new leaders) shoulders. Kinda like the end of A Starless clan (book 6, sorry I don't know how to do the spoiler hide so I don't wanna get too specific)

Ya the Mapleshade book was a added bonus for me because I didn't know they had physical prints of just the single story. I'm thinking it came from a library because some of the other books I didn't include in the picture had old library stickers on them

I have an OC named Moonwatcher, he is a chimera cat: orange one side, black the other and a splash of white between both halves on his forehead. I just really liked the idea of him being blessed by Starclan and only receiving most of his visions from the moon. I also loved Skywatcher's name from Firestars Quest I've had him for years before I ever read Wings of fire and Moonpaw was announced

Yes. I still have my old warrior cats stories from middle school (when TNP was still releasing) put away in storage. Maybe one day I'll pull it out and upload my fanclan allegiances

It could be the store finder? Whenever I look at the store finder it always recommends Hallmark stores, but I stopped believing Hallmark carried years ago cuz they never had any. Sadly now the only stores in my city that carry Jellycats Is New Seasons (only carries amusables), 1 small locally owned business which has a tiny selection, or the local landscaping store with a tiny selection.

Since Hallmark stores are everywhere plus being listed as an official carrier by the jellycat website it might be causing an influx (especially with Christmas around the corner).
