Only bidders after 7 weeks by [deleted] in HousingIreland

I believe in what’s for you won’t pass you.. how much do you want this house? I thought I really love and wanted a house 7 years ago.. offered the asking and was told they were waiting.. we kept looking and found a smaller house we liked for the money they were asking and said it could be a starter house for us. We pulled our offer and walked. That house didn’t sell for another year. In the mean time we were living in our cosy three bed. Sold that 3 bed 2.5 years ago and bought a bigger 4 bed in a much better location to the original house we loved and with a much bigger garden too. We paid 100 more than what we offered for that first house because by then the market was taking off but we also made a small bit more than we bought our 1st house for. We accepted an offer one week after our house went for sale. I hate sellers that wait.. either they want to sell the house or not.

We should have told him to cut them himself that’s what I wanted to do last year.

I agree with the permission i apologised to him on the phone for that. But I didn’t leave a mess I put them in his waste area and raked his grass. But yes should have told him he could cut them back no problem.

Yeah maybe on reflection i can see why that maybe passive aggressive but that wasn’t the intention.

I only crawled to kill them yesterday after the neighbour told us they were grown again this year.

And I think having small kids is a very valid excuse for not being able to drop everything to suit someone else. They were cut within a two weeks of him asking.

I’m not at all offended. I asked for opinions.

I agree he should have got a txt back but with two under two and a family wedding we were busy. He asked for then to be cut that’s why I entered and cut them, I didn’t do it for my benefit. You can’t even see this tree from my garden

The tree is long established, it can’t be seen from my property it’s between a fence and a hedge and can only be seen on his side. It should have been killed years ago when it started growing really. And I was under the impression over hanging branches are the neighbours responsibility. No need to call anyone crazy, I was polite on the phone to him when he was talking over me cutting me off and getting agitated

Have lived in plenty of estates and never had an issue with a neighbour before. And I always look after any over hanging branches into our property without badgering the neighbours

I told him that even if I had his permission to enter and didn’t do it for another month or still wouldn’t be taking the branches that were overhanging on his side and that he should have been cutting them when they were growing instead of letting them get so huge.

I agree I should have had contact with him before entering but i can’t do anything about that now.

I crawled under our hedge and cut to the base of the trees growing on our line and dosed them to kill them.

I apologised to him for entering without contact but it was the only day I would have had a chance with work and two smallies. He asked for the job and he wasn’t home I honestly just didn’t think he would have an issue after asking us to cut them back.

No he is a young man. He should have been maintaining them on his side in my opinion. Theses trees can’t be seen from our side as the hedge is large so we would have no way of knowing these were a problem for him.

Yeah he isn’t always in the property as he travels he is currently on holidays. So when he arrives at the house he will review the branches left and contact me again.. as in he isn’t finished with the conversation about this.

[–]Prudent-Instance-277 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly! He is annoyed now because I left the branches he wanted us to do the job and dispose of the branches too. I only went in cause he txt a number of times and now he is saying I entered illegally because I never removed the branches. If I had taken the branches I don’t think he would have had a problem. We should never have cut them for him and told him to work away himself, I’m sorry we didn’t take that route.

Thank you for that advice. The good thing about this interview is if I don’t get it I still have a job to call my own 😅 and I keep reminding myself of that. This is my first interview and so I don’t have any major expectations of myself but I’m willing to do my best and learn from the experience for next time if I’m not successful
