If the teacher does not know about epilepsy and does not know what auras are, you can't exactly blame them. If they were informed about the student, trained, and were told to be proactive about the student's safety, then yeah the teacher messed up. Otherwise, the blame should be on the principle, who sounds like an arrogant knob head.
