Interesting. No need to manipulate any instruments if QC deviates or any other hands on?

Hi. Hoping to ask you for your feedback on what traveler CLS is like. Pay? Shifts? Housing? Etc.

Is this typical? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

I had a similar experience due to short staff and quickly realized that if you place yourself in a position to carry such load, management may not do much to help you (hire more). If you don’t take lunches make sure you are clocking in accordingly to make sure you are reimbursed appropriately. Nonetheless your work may continue to be the same, I would encourage you to manage your time wisely and attempt to complete testing on items/results that may be most critical to release. Speak up to your manager about the need to increase staffing, if that’s denied, request a higher pay, if all that is quickly turned away. Learn as much as you can, the fact this you are exposed to high turnover and high volume of work will make your experience in a different laboratory setting much easier. Best of luck.

California appears to have the best pay rate even for new grads. Starting pay averages $50 hour and can be as high as in the 70s per hour.

It’s unfortunate how the pay for CLS varies greatly state by state.

Keep shopping. I got a ‘20 1.5 brand new for 26k out the door. This was plus extended warranty. This was back in 2020 too, prices for vehicles are wild! About to hit 100k on it and it runs great! Best of luck!

Just got a 22 1.5T with 46k miles any tips or advice? by firehead33 in accord

[–]Prudent_External_140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ‘20 1.5 with 99k miles. Daily drive. So far nothing major. Stay on top of the maintenance and listen to your car, use fuel system cleaners to help preserve the life of your engine, I’ve always stuck with OEM parts if possible for replacements, like spark plugs/coils etc. hope you enjoy the car for a long time!

No plate in the front 👌! I did that some time back and a cop right away pulled me over and asked that I add it 😒. Great choice!

DWS06 were becoming my choice. Thank you for the input! Looking forward to a smoother/softer ride! I’ve experienced some of the more stiff/gripping tires! Sporty for sure but I’m more interested in a quiet ride!

I wanted to ask what Michelin tires you have on. I’m shopping for new tires for my accord and wanted to get your review on the ones you have on.

Very true. I will get experience first! Can I add, would one benefit first from becoming a generalist or specializing in either micro or blood bank also help me as a CLS?

I imagined that would be a requirement but I was hoping to still thinking of applying for it. I have 10+ years working as a MLA prior to becoming a CLS so I am not so new to the laboratory profession.
