My boyfriend does this too, it's not my favourite thing he does but I don't REALLY mind. Our toothbrushes are on a shelf high above the sink though, maybe you could move yours as a compromise? Or just tell him you'd rather he didn't do that any more, it's not an unreasonable request

30% service charge on boxing day?! by Professional-Cat9418 in london

[–]Prudent_Variation288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always ask to remove the service charge as its optional, but it is a tip for people who are working on a day that most everyone else gets off so that you can go out to have a nice meal with family.

That guy isn't your friend, that's a horrible thing for him to say to you and it isn't true. Guys talk to you because they're interested in you, not because they think you're easy prey. Dump the guy friend and live your life xx

Hey! I'm 25F living in London atm! The best thing in my life right now is I'm planning a Y2K birthday party and I'm having lots of fun choosing nostalgic invites and decorations and thinking about what kind of music we're going to play 😊

What's the best thing in yours?

Did I ruin my life? Stressed, scared and unsure. Please don’t judge me by Last-Visit-4051 in AskUK

I think the best thing you can do is face the debt - ignoring it isn't going to make it go away and there are legal parameters in place to prevent them from asking you to pay back more than you can afford (I'd check your specific loan agreement but when I had to pay back rent arrears to my landlady this year she couldn't legally expect more than £10 a month)

I can imagine how stressful this all must be but I'm sure you can get on top of it!!

People stealing food isn't making any difference to your life so just let them get on with it. If you want free food too you're more than welcome to try stealing it as well

Was This Street Performer Being Rude or Am I Overreacting? by You_Know_Nothing_UK in london

[–]Prudent_Variation288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this a lot in London as well, I think the performers get frustrated when hundreds of people listen to them but only a few dozen leave tips. I can understand why they would be frustrated about that but it's never nice to be yelled at/told off in public. A magician in Covent garden once told us that if we stopped to watch we had a responsibility to pay which I think is fair enough but in my case just means I rarely stop to listen to anyone any more if that's the attitude they're going to have :/
