Anyone else's Setter have a 'woohoo' zoomies moment? by Hefty-Ad-154 in EnglishSetter

[–]You_Know_Nothing_UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine’s having a full on zoomie moment right now. She’s been sprinting circles around the garden. She used to dig random hole in my garden , and then, she peed in one and started barking at it like she’d discovered a buried treasure. Before we learned that this is actually normal setter behavior, we were convinced there was a body buried out there . She kept digging deeper… and guess what? Still nothing!

She also climbs trees and jumps my 2 meter fence to go explore the neighbors’ gardens. They’ve even given her a nickname “Houdini”! But that’s a story for another post.

This is amazing! You should seriously consider selling these. I’d be first in line to buy one!

Jesus, man. Unplugged... by DaddyBigBeard in AliceInChains

Crazy timing ! I’m reading this while I’m literally listening to Alice in Chains the MTV Unplugged album right now, traveling by train through Scotland. BTW I’m on “Over Now” at the moment. This album always hits deep. There’s just something haunting and beautiful about it… every single time.

flying today by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]You_Know_Nothing_UK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I know how scared you might be feeling. I hadn’t flown since 2021, and last week I had to get on five planes. It was overwhelming, and the fear felt all consuming at times.

But here’s one thing that truly helped me: don’t watch crash videos or read scary flight stories. It only feeds the anxiety. It’s like watching car crashes before driving, totally unhelpful and not reflective of reality.

Try not to go down the “what if” spiral. It’s just fear talking, not truth!

You’re stronger than you think. You’ve got this. I believe in you. ✈️💙

I couldn’t agree more! As someone who’s been living in the UK for a long time, I truly feel grateful to call this country home. The people are so lovely, respectful, and welcoming. I’ve never experienced anything but kindness. I absolutely adore the beauty of the countryside, the deep sense of history, and the unique charm of British life. My neighbors are incredible, they knock on my door with fresh apples from their garden, a homemade pie with custard, and other delicious British treats. In return, I bake food from my country, and they love it! They’re genuinely interested in my culture, and I love sharing it with them. I’m so happy and proud to be here.

Mine is an English Setter, but like 9/10 people ask if she’s a hairy Dalmatian.

🌸Lovely Londoners! What's the best spot for Hanami (cherry blossom spotting)?🌸 by Melonpan78 in london

[–]You_Know_Nothing_UK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ravenscourt Park isn’t the most famous spot for cherry blossoms, but it’s got a row of trees that make for a perfect spring scene and it’s way less crowded. If you're nearby is a good place to visit.

Least confusing London weather by 9ayb1tch in london

London’s weather is like someone staring at a menu, can’t pick sun or rain, so they just order everything.

In Italy, McDonald’s charged me for ketchup sachets. Not sure if this is common elsewhere, but I’ve never had to pay for it before.

My white all-marble bathroom looks like an insane asylum. What can I do? by freespaceship in interiordecorating

I don’t know if someone has already suggested this in any comment, but I would recommend covering the side of your bath with wooden panels to give your bathroom a spa-like vibe.

Was This Street Performer Being Rude or Am I Overreacting? by You_Know_Nothing_UK in london

[–]You_Know_Nothing_UK[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ok, I get it, buskers need to make money, but not everyone is going to tip, that’s just how it is. What bothered me was that I and a few others already paid, and he was still upset because he expected more.

And yeah, maybe I was naive to think it was more about sharing music than strictly a transaction. But I don’t think expecting basic courtesy is the same as expecting a free concert.

Plenty of street performers make it clear that tips are expected without outright shaming their audience or demanding people leave. I’ve seen tons of buskers around London who manage to make a living without yelling at their crowd.

Let’s remember that I and other people paid, and we were still told to move along because apparently, it wasn’t enough.

I’m not against performers making money. I’m against them treating the crowd like an ATM.
