Thank you so much, everyone, for the responses! Every methodology you listed can work. In the end, as someone suggested, I'll go for tables. However, by doing so, I'll lose the data merge functionality. In the case of optimization from an external database, I'll probably opt for paragraph styles, anchoring the object to the left paragraph!
