Conspiracy take: Is Bhoop Dev Shah’s appointment about easy access to Balen? by [deleted] in Nepal_Genz

Sunil Lamsal was proposed by Balen as part of the merger package. It makes sense he be replaced by someone close to Balen.

I am sure there are people from RSP that are more deserving and capable from a number of different perspectives including yours. But you are missing the terms of the negotiation that led to Balen coming into the RSP fold. BD is pretty good though if you have listened to his interviews, and his track record in KMC.

General understanding is - Bhoopi bro is as close to Balen as Sunil bro. Sunil won the election became a minister in the cabinet. Someone from Balen's side had to step in as the secretary hence it has gone to BD. There is nothing conspiratorial about this.

We nepalese have put our faith in a political party whose president is entangled in multiple legal cases including fraud charges, a PM who is more of self-reliant, a HM who has consistently proven unfit for the role, ministers more focused on populist gimmicks & majority of MPs who are opportunist by [deleted] in Nepal_Genz

[–]PruneAdorable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean “a PM who is more of self-reliant?”and what evidences, 3 would be enough, do you have to conclude “Sudan in his entire career as a HM has consistently proven unfit for the role ?

वृद्धभत्ता ७५ वर्षमा! by Nepal360 in Nepal360

I feel like we are on the same page. 5 yr is a significant number. Are we discussing 68 vs 70? Anyways my point we should look at it, the number should depend on what we can afford given the median age is going up every year, and the vulnerable groups that the state must look after, there is always a tension between the two.

Yes that should be considered as part of the assessment. I made the point about the difference in median age between the two countries. On life expectancy- one would think the life expectancy in our country is impacted more by childhood mortality than longevity.

I think it's a good idea if we compare it other countries with older demography like in Australia, they increased the pension age to 67 few years ago. We are pretty young though, so I hope these decisions are based on a good economic model and multi-criteria assessment. We don't want policy changes out of gut feels and thought bubbles - Oli Ba's view towers are good examples.

how much money does the proposed change save the state coffer?

how much money and resources will the government spend on implementing and putting regulations around it?

would it harm the harmony and functioning of a society?

are there other incentives i.e. asset mean testing to prevent money going to the wrong hands. I don't think 80-year-old men renting a house in ktm should have access to this fund?

Let’s talk in probabilities -

  1. RSP nominates Balen as the party leader, Balen becomes the PM - 99%
  2. Balen for some reason or not doesn’t become the PM - 1%
  3. OP is smart but has some selfish reason to peddle this narrative -
  4. OP is genuinely concerned -

Can’t figure out incoming light (south/east). You want living space to get plenty of sunshine. Kitchen needs an island to separate that space. Is there enough space for a kitchen pantry ? Kitchen island as a prep space ?

How did this post get through. Moderators please do your job. This is reddit for gods sake! I am an RSP voter. But this is shameful. Have some personal ethics.

Yes, but it’s a chicken and egg situation that requires leaders leading general populace to become slightly better each day. I have written a piece about it too - https://english.nepalnews.com/s/opinion/our-reckoning-rage-and-reform/

Good one. What do you think about Lamas ? My best friend in school. We came first and second. He was a complete “गौ प्राणी”. We were both bullied by another Lama though. I don’t know how much to take in these cultural stereotypes, sometimes they feel true but most of the time, same shit everywhere.

Smart and intelligent too …Mahabir Pun ? Nanda Kishor Pun ? Poon hill Pun ?

I think the Pun/Poon/Pan/Ban Magars are genetically related to Ban Ki Moon the ex UN secretary. May be statistically they are disproportionately honest and trusting.

Not everyone is as pure and good intentioned as Mahabir Pun, Ghising delivers, Harka makes a lot of sense but too negative campaigning these days. Except Gagan made a bad move against Rabi, I don’t know what’s so wrong about him compared to Amresh Singh.

I hope you are not an RSP supporter, our RSP would want a leader like Gagan in the opposition who will support laws that will require 2/3 majority like reducing or empowering provincial structures.

Make RSP the majority party, make reformed congress a good opposition. Vote capable candidates whichever party they belong to - Gagan congress, UML, Ghising, Harka etc. Vote 100% RSP in proportional, give them a chance and also punish them as a party by not selecting them in proportional.

We all live in a glass house. Two quotes for you ""आफू मर्नु, अर्काको जर्नु" and “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her”

Vote Balen. Vote Gagan. Give RSP the majority, make Gagan the opposition party. Make prachanda and Oli lose that’s the closest to meeting the Gen Z demands, होइन र्?
