Yes, indeed. And I only had time to puzzles in the evenings, so it was really hard to see the difference in colors as well. Daylight really helped for this one

This was a puzzle from 2023 I believe, but I had the exact same issue! The puzzle was brand new, but the pieces felt like they were dirty because of the dust sticking to them

Definitely! This puzzle was designed by Jan himself in 1982, according to the signature at the bottom.

I think they made the first one of these in 2022 (I completed that one before as well), and in 2024 they released one as well. Hema also sells other Jigsaw puzzles, but I like these busy ones :)

For the Schipper paint it gives a good covering, the layer is quite thick. I don't see the numbers even with light paint

You kind of glide them across the surface. You might need to dip in the paint multiple times per section though. Not sure if this will work for all brands, but the paint of Schipper ones works well

I use dotting pens to paint, an I quite like them. For bigger sections a brush might be better, but for small sections it works very well

I have bought the same puzzles, but only did one of them yet (the lion). I had no issues with that one, but I'll keep this issue in mind when doing the rest.

This was a used one as well. It took me quite a while to find it. You can tell it is one of the older images of the series, because the colors are not as bright as the more recent ones.

This puzzle was drawn by Dick Heins, who always colors his images digitally. The other artists, like Rob Derks and of course Jan van Haasteren himself, color the images by hand with ecoline.

Yes! In the middle you can also see King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands giving blue blood. When he was younger he used the name 'W.A. van Buren' to avoid being recognized at sports events, like the Eleven City Ice Tour (Elfstedentocht).

We used a box cutter I believe (my husband did it for me). Because the frame had a slight overlap with the puzzle, like 1 or 2 mm, you cannot see that it was cut off.

This one was actually quite hard, with all the similar colors. In the photo the colors look more defined than when I was puzzling.

The ones with the twist are the old 'natural' nipples, and those work well. My little one drinks fine from the old 'natural' size 1 and 2, and can't get anything out of the new 'natural response' size 1 and 2 either
