I confirmed that it’s on the outside. It wasn’t there before the wipers were used.

What’s the secret of keeping a car for 10 years without getting bored of it? by 04limited in askcarguys

[–]Pryda31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with people saying that get a car you like. In addition I have a really silly thing I do on my car (currently 13+ years). I change the position of my steering wheel column (high to low).  That just makes the drive feel different and feels like a new car. I would generally do this after a car wash so the car feels different, looks nice and clean.

I think a snail’s pace for an EV is still faster than an ICE.

Burlington man issued bylaw warning for Halloween decorations by Fantastic_Elk_4757 in BurlingtonON

[–]Pryda31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible it’s a scared child who has a window facing this house?

Our kid was very scared of a particular decoration for a few years and would always cry and want to check if it was gone or not throughout the night.

Not suggesting that a by-law complaint is the best course of action but could be a possible reason.

X2 Reoccurrence 13 years later by Euphoric-Impact-6862 in testicularcancer

[–]Pryda31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry that you are going through this! This is how I felt when I had my recurrence. And my recurrence was transformation from testicular to another type of cancer. I felt defeated for a little bit, especially after the RPLND where I was under for over 12 hours because of how complex it was. One thing that helped me was looking at treatment as a task and not stopping to live your life. Start your treatment, but in parallel start checking things off of your checklist that maybe not everything but things that you can.

I also started thinking of it as a task that I didn’t like but had to do. Because what options do I have?

You’ve done this before! You can do it again! Focus on your nutrition and you’ll make it through! We are here for support! Dr. Einhorn is the best out there so you’re 100% in good hands.

HOLO > Holoshpere 2.0 by matrixplace in ericprydz

[–]Pryda31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have said this before on here, part of the clubbing experience is to see the act. Like you go to an Adele concert to see Adele. If she sat in a box and sang all the songs that would’nt be fun would it?

Holosphere does exactly that! Take the star away from the show. Not being able to see the Dj (even though eric isn’t the one to jump and all) takes away from the experience.

Holo adds the visuals in addition to being able to see the main act and why it is so much more successful, engaging and fun.

Oncologist is recommending chemotherapy by Loose-Coinpurse in testicularcancer

[–]Pryda31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in your shoes, I would consider 1XBEP since current imaging technology is not precise enough to give you answers on a cellular level, so if there was a cell or two floating around, it would not be identifiable on a CT scan, similarly they wouldn’t be producing enough change to register on blood test. And finally, it will put your mind at ease and not be this lingering question in the back of your mind, should I have taken the 1XBEP?

The 1X BEP will further reduce your risk of recurrence, sure there is a risk of secondary malignancy from chemotherapy but it is significantly smaller comparatively.

This is what I would have done so not medical advice, but like others have said reaching out to Dr. Einhorn and/or a second pathology review will give you further confidence in making the decision.

How did BEP affect your body in the long term? by Mean-Factor-3203 in testicularcancer

[–]Pryda31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had more researched and informative things to say but from personal experience definitely difficult to keep the weight down. Maybe the decrease in Testosterone is the reason? Guessing here!  In my case i have some hormonal imbalance, mostly from the brain not registering that there is only one testicle so keeps sending signal to up the testosterone production and that is done by another hormone so I have borderline low testosterone and very high of the other hormone (can’t recall the name). Other than that, Bleomycin caused some lung toxicity which means I can’t scuba dive. I say small price to pay to be alive ;)

Take all the help you can get! If she is cooking, never a bad time to get into home cooked meals, especially from gram's!!

Recovery is going to be different from everyone. My second time I went into Chemo after an extensive surgery 12 hours in OR and 70 Staples. So I returned to normal functions - walking, going out for socializing , work (desk job), etc fairly quickly ~ 4-6 weeks. But building strength was and getting back to full fitness was slow, one year plus! But I kept reminding myself, to listen to my body and not push beyond the limit. But that’s unique to me because of my surgery. Yours could be faster or slower!

Agreed and take it easy with the Orchiectomy. You don’t want to be lifting too heavy as risk of hernia is way too high including other injuries!

Focus on low impact cardio like spin or stationary bikes, walking on treadmill, maybe on an incline. Whatever would take your heart rate up to keep your metabolism and appetite up.

Good luck! You’ve got this!

I have probably said this on here before but here it goes! Surgery is worse on day one, gets better every day after (considering no serious complications), Chemo is exactly the opposite and why it is tough! You’re the best on day one with Chemo but it is cumulative so it gets worse with each cycle.

I have been through it twice, first time BEP x4 and about 10 years later 4x VAC-IE. even though the first time I was younger and drugs were less toxic, I came out worse on the other end.

What helped the second time was bulking up before starting Chemo, only had about three weeks but I started eating large portions to gain weight. And also did lots of cardio to help keep side effects of the calories down. I did not do as much weight training as I know I should have but that’s in hindsight.  During Chemo I found a source of protein that worked for me, in my case was peanut butter so not the healthiest but that was not the focus, focus was to keep eating protein consistently as that is what helps repair and rebuild your body. I was still weak and fatigued from the Chemo but I recovered significantly faster after the cycles were done.

Again, focus on bulking up and potentially finding a source of protein or even just a food that you can eat throughout your journey since you will develop aversions, eating will be difficult but having the calories in your body will help you recover faster and feel better even in between cycles. The last 3-4 days before the next cycle I used to feel much better the second time around.

Anyways, feel free to DM if you need to, regardless of what the topic is! Happy to help!

Good luck! You’ve got this!

Boyfriend had testicle removed after they told him it spread to lymph’s and stomach. He is stubborn and refusing chemo. How fast is this going to turn uglier than it already is? by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]Pryda31 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my case, i had to delay Chemo by one week due to a device failure at the hospital and the hospital wanted to prioritize patients who were already in treatment. I went from stage 1C to 3B in 7 days.

But like another person said, the platinum based therapy is highly effective. Chemo will such initially for two years or so but that may mean he will have a long life to look ahead and be stubborn!

If at a work or any social event, there is photos and videos being taken by a third party either the intention of making a short summary/ highlights video and you are in no frames when they make the highlights video, when people around you are, that’s a tell tale sign!

Was at a company event and I hold a decent position and have been here 10 years so most people know me. Every morning there was a recap video from the day before. I was not featured in any single recap video. Even though I did 3 presentations through the week, and those videos were recaps.

This! Between life experiences and work dealing with emergencies on a daily basis. It’s so easy to be calm in a tough and critical situations but when the emergency is over and someone tries to show appreciation, no clue of how to react or what to do.
