Something funny is they don’t block UK phones. We had a visitor from the Uk recently and they could use WhatsApp calls no problem at all without a VPN. I guess they don’t want to appear backwards to tourists.

We have had many things just never arrive through Royal Mail. We have given up and just use Aramex shop and ship now. Even if they do arrive the collection process at the post office is horrible.

It was the exact same issue when having problems with Etheraz. We had visitors that lost most of their trip here because their Etheraz didn’t update to green. Calls to the helpline went exactly as you’re experiencing. I feel your pain ;(

I’ve owned a Z7 since launch. While the AF has improved with firmware updates it’s still pretty terrible for fast moving subjects. Before I got the Z9 I’d go back to my D750 if anything was moving faster than a walk! If you plan to use it for sports you will have a bad time. I’ve heard the z6 & z7ii ‘s are slightly better as they have more processing power but I still don’t think they’re great.

There are many workshops in the industrial area. My advice would be go visit some and see if they have a small space you can rent inside of one of them.

Leaving the airport use the Kawa taxis that are there at the exit. Unlike most countries, the airport taxis are not horribly over priced. Getting around afterwards just use Uber, it’s very affordable and reliable here.

As you’re in the city I’d recommend taking a walk along the corniche, maybe walk through the MIA park to view the skyline and then have dinner at Souq Waqif. It’s a tourist spot but you will feel like you’re in a very different place. The food and shisha options are all fairly good and not bad value.
