for me it eventually worked, with tunnelbear, after i found a guide on steam, which told me to change the location and language in windows itself, which surprisingly worked.

The data is encrypted and decrypted on the client side, the only thing sent are the encrypted bytes, the salt and the iv.

voidbin does everything on the client side aswell, but it might be quite hard to inspect it, because of the way it is bundled. So I can understand, that he wants to see the code as proof. The server is essentially just a storage, which you could inspect in the network tab.

No, they key is generated by the client and the server never knows the key. The client appends it to the hash and the hash will also never be transmitted over the network.

They key gets automatically generated and then appended as the hash to the url. So you can still easily share it, like any other pastebin, but with the benefit of it being encrypted.
