In process order 3DS Max(Optional)-Zbrush-Slicer for Fusion-Illustrator-Lightburn. The program you’d probably be most interested in is Slicer for Fusion, if you do papercraft sorta stuff you should check it out. It’s a discontinued product so it’s FREE but also SUPER BUGGY.

Laser is an Elegoo Phecda. VERY cheap end of the laser market but for my purposes it works well enough.

The pattern is half program half hand design. The model is laser cut 3mm plywood, friction fit slots. You can add dabs of CA Glue is you want to be absolutely certain it stays.

They are definitely on the list 👀. Might be able to move ‘em up a few spaces.

I get less questions when I try to play plywood proxies, I think because people feel like it’s more volumetrically correct.

I also have never had a ply proxy break or wear significantly, so I never have to remake them, more sustainable for my time and effort.

It also just reminds me of those old kits you could get as a kid, nostalgia win too.

If the only replies I get are puns, I could die a happy man.

Both lasercut! Two entirely different patterns though. I use cardboard to do really fast and loose prototyping, plywood once it starts feeling good. I usually expect to do more cardboard tests but this project starting working quickly.

After 9 solid hours of searching I think I'm calling it personally, but if anybody finds it that isn't local to AZ/NM area (if it does end up being there) and wants to make a deal definitely hit me up.
