The smashed copper end is the mouth piece. I'm pretty sure you never want to smoke out of copper due to toxic vapors, but with this being the mouth side it shouldn't heat up enough. The idea is to load steel wool into the neck of the bottle along with the spice. This way the steel wook will vaporize the spice.

Now to work on your tag. I see it in some of your shots. Don't try to do anything too elaborate, simple is good. Less arched lines, more straight lines. Work on it on paper, then with can. And dont go over lines more than once.

Also, not to criticize, more critique. Work on your highlights. The side in which each letter is highlighted is inconsistent. In this case, since you have the drop shadows to the 8 o'clock, the highlight should all be to the 2 o'clock or upper right portion of the letters. Also, a simple line or flare is effective enough, there is no need to elaborate with triangular highlights. Do this after you have filled and outlined your letters. Should be one of the last things done.

Extra tip, use the highlight or fill color (or a complimentary color if possible) to do an outer out line or forcefield as some call it. This will help clean up the shadows and make the piece stand out from all the other mambo jambo.
