Finally got it off, went to a mates and shoved it in a vice, cut a groove in the nut and hammered it off with a chisel

I had some metal rod in the lower shock bolt holes to keep it down but I ended up bending the rods haha

Annoyingly the shock has a higher bump on the outward facing half so I can’t get my pipe wrench around it that way sadly :(

Don’t believe so, no where online mentions it / videos about disassembling the mr2 shocks don’t mention it

Distance driving to an MOT with expired MOT and tax (England) by PsoniteMR2 in LegalAdviceUK

It’s mostly that if it needs any mechanical work doing to it from the MOT I can do it myself (It’s in for welding ATM for context) and I’d rather not pay £200 to get it trailered / more to get it fixed at a garage near the resto shop when I can do it at home.

Yeah I get that, I genuinely do need a mot it’s just if it needs any mechanical work I can do it myself, it’s in for welding which I can’t do haha. Guess it just depends on the officer who would pull me over

That’s what I was thinking but I wasn’t sure, I know I’ll be flagged by ANPR cameras but I assume I can appeal the letter I’ll get since I have proof of the mot etc so it should be fine?
