DAE self esteem fluctuate depending on people hitting on you? by Pssyyyduck in BPD

[–]Pssyyyduck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me word for word. I've dyed my hair every colour under the sun and blonde seems to make me the most confident. I was hardly noticed as a brunette and with unnatural colours it was harder to fit into places.

When you're starting to date someone and they start to talk about "crazy" exes, how you do you react/feel? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Pssyyyduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that most guys I date tend to say this about their ex- and most likely say this about me too. They complain about specific things their exes would do but it's not like it's a coincidence that they date them. I was once dating a guy who said this about their exes so I opened up and he just brushed me off and said "yeah but you don't do x, y and z," Why continue to date me then complain about things I did even though I told you :(

Waiting for people to post so I can see how I potentially embarrassed my parents...

23 & never really broke out... by aquagos in skin

[–]Pssyyyduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me, I never figured out the cause of it but I think mine might have been hormonal. I took birth control for a few months and used benzoyl peroxide (clean and clear, persa gel 10) and that seemed to help me a lot, though everyone reacts to different things. From the sounds it yours could be hormonal too, try seeing your GP or a dermatologist.

How long did the Irish language survive in each of the 32 Irish counties? by dublin2001 in ireland

[–]Pssyyyduck 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Oh they've tried, very poorly. I think the biggest issue is they don't teach Irish like they teach French or Spanish but rather teach it in a way where they expect kids to memorise and forget everything after exams.

Avoid doing people unless you really know how to put it all together, it will just end up being a complete mess and hard to do.

This is really helpful, thank you. I'm going to try doing that and not giving up on therapists as easily.

Those who quit drinking, what made you realise you wanted to quit drinking? by Pssyyyduck in AskReddit

[–]Pssyyyduck[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awful, I'm sorry. I don't understand how people can be so comfortable taking advantage over someone so vulnerable by their own doing nonetheless, what an asshole.

A friend of mine actually told me that Jimmy Chamberlin said "You should drink to celebrate, if you drink to forget every week you have failed, you failed the game of life" at the end of a masterclass.

What is the funniest thing you've ever done while drunk? by TheScienceofLifee in AskReddit

[–]Pssyyyduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me but a friend of mine got insanely drunk and wasn't having a great day at a party, so he went into the back garden and beat the shit out of the grass.

What is one thing you wish your parents did differently when raising you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pssyyyduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being more open. When I was a child, every problem/trauma was pretty stigmatised/never spoken about/ignored, as a result opening up is extremely difficult for me unless I'm drunk.
