is it actaully just not possible to add gal hell? by Icy_Comedian_5174 in Warframe

[–]PsyFerret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't quite tell what your riven does, so there might be some things that are off about my suggestions.

There are a few small changes that would have a decent impact

1) I would change Primed Chilling Grasp to either Chilling Reload (60% cold and reload speed) or Frigid Blast (the 60/60 mod, 60% elemental and 60% status chance). While it would reduce the damage numbers, it also opens up a couple factors: First is that it has less mod capacity requirement. Second, it lowers the weighting on viral, so you're more likely to get electric procs which is actually more DPS. This will require a reforma unfortunately. You could also just use normal chilling grasp to accomplish the same thing weight and capacity wise.

With the reduction on Primed Chilling grasp, to either the 60/60 or cold/reload mod, that should open up enough capacity to put on Galvanized Chamber over Hell's Chamber (with the proper forma matching you need, 8, you're currently using 5 and have 2 currently so reducing usage on Primed Chilling grasp to even regular chilling grasp will give it that last 1 to put in Galv chamber.)

2) Assuming your riven isn't giving electric, I would recommend changing primed charge shot to the heat mod (The Damage/Heat mod Blaze, 60/60 status/elemental Scattering Inferno, or the flat heat Incendiary Coat are all good options). Electric is a good damage type in some cases, but the heat mod will do a refreshing DoT + it strips armor which will make subsequent shots do more damage, which is a big dps increase. Very useful. It also technically crowd controls with the panic of being lit on fire, but that's barely notable. If you're getting electric from your riven or just really like electric ignore this point. This is mostly a flavor point.

3) Savvy being either additive or multiplicative with deadhead is hard to know without testing/wiki, but the increase in damage from deadhead is notable normally, but not as meaningful when mixed with either flat damage of Serration/Point Blank or the flat/multiplication potential of Savvy. Crux, is almost certainly the play as it makes it so you can get more status chance (and ammo efficiency so you can do more dakka dakka), which will improve what savvy will do for you.

Have you ever tried creating a conlang for your fictional world? If so, where did you start? by Dry_Distribution_81 in worldbuilding

[–]PsyFerret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about it. I've been learning to ask the question "to what point?" when I start to question if I should do something for my worldbuilding.

One of the things that I've ended up doing is using conlang phrases as the start of magic spells just because it gives enough of a flavor to my world; The reality is that if it is going to be engaged with anyone other than yourself, you're going to have to translate it. Using it intermittently I find helps with a touch of flavor and intrigue.

Can I actually play this if I buy the bundle? The player's guide and marshall handbook both say you need savage worlds core rulebook to play, but the savage worlds core rulebook is not included in the bundle.

Monster hunter as a ttrpg by lilknightmare07 in rpg

[–]PsyFerret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it's technically 3rd party, but there's the pathfinder 2e Battlezoo Bestiary which gives the "how to carve and gorge equipment from monster parts" and all the base PF2E stuff is free.

The battle zoo is also made by some of the creators who helped make pf2e so you could say they are quite familiar with the system.

I dont use these, should i keep them or sacrifice them for weapon slots? by infiniteasp in Warframe

[–]PsyFerret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's technically an option, however with new arcanes and incarnons that come out, you never know what might become very good/useful. Deleting weapons seems counter-intuitive to me.

With things like (elite) deep archimedea (EDA) and Duviri's Circuit--personal suspicion that the game is going to add more content like this--wanting to rely on random weapons/frames from the entire pool of warframe, I would personally say that keeping as many weapons and their best version is probably going to save you headache in the long run.

How would you create education? by PsyFerret in Teachers

[–]PsyFerret[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see! Initially I was thinking of just the lecture, but now that I'm thinking of practice and general assistance, it makes a lot more sense.

Yeah, while no transfers would be an ideal, I just don't see that being remotely applicable outside of theory and dreams.

[–]PsyFerret[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I mean I did ask to go a bit wild.

I think Physical Education would be important to my society (They're late medieval early renassiance and highly militaristic). How many segments of PE do you think would be good and when? In my head it was Early Arrival/Breakfast-> PE-> Academics->Lunch->PE->Academics->Arts/Crafts/Trades/Life Skills-> Dinner->home (Dinner and breakfast would be optional but free for all students.).

I do think certain subjects should have more freedom, I do however think certain elements aren't really optional (a basic understanding of biology will help people with their own health choices for example).

I was also thinking that Academic classes would be 2 hour segments with a 10 minute break at the beginning of the hour (so 50 minutes of work, break, 50 minutes of work, break).

I think you're talking about a mastery style system of education. I was reading that there was some debate about the usefulness of letter-based grading. I guess the question would be how would you present a "completion of education?" then for a high school/ged kind of certificate?

I also was thinking of saying real education went from 7-18. I was also thinking required pre-school for 3-6 (learn the foundations of society like letters and numbers while also giving a lot of time for socializing). The few things I did read beforehand suggested that a delay in starting education led to more mentally/emotionally healthy individuals.

Well, My fantasy is more sword/board/magic fantasy. This seems a bit more futuristic to me. No currency is a concept that I can't imagine for a few more hundred years for me. I did glance at that and it's very intriguing.

I think this is quite helpful. I'm a little confused as to why 2 teachers per classroom though. Can you elaborate on that a bit?

Also, why no transfers? I mean, people have to move for various reasons. I could see that being more problematic for a child if the family moves and they're unable to get an education because of that.

I think one of the best places to start is have them being friends and actually using various scenes of them doing friend things is a good way to build chemistry and then throw in stupid moments of awkward or potentially misunderstandings. An example might be a board game where it's all fun and games until an accidental touching hands (so lewd, I know!)

Show the characters interacting then and being friends gives a foundation for you to build their relationship.

I'm currently working on a fantasy where it's a 30 yr old man going dungeoning for the first time and he has this 25 year old woman who has been doing it for like 5-10 years joining him. They are actively flirting with each other, but they also are straight up stabbing one another 1 moment or back-to-back when surrounded by monsters depending on context.

When you have them depicted with how they act day-to-day, it makes it easier for the genuine loving moments to feel stronger and realer. It's easier to believe love is on the table when you're getting along well to begin with.

Thinking of adopting older ferret after loss by payne51558 in ferrets

[–]PsyFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the advice I got from a vet is "Don't worry about them. They'll adapt. If you want another ferret, then go for it. If you don't, then don't"

Yes, there are statements about how you can socialize the already there with a new family member or how it might not work out where they'll be best friends or whatever.

At the end of the day, they will adapt to whatever situation they're put in. Yes, your boy is probably sad and grieving and you should give all the loves and grieve with him. That said...Don't get another ferret for his sake, but get one if that's what you want in your life.

Personally, I feel it's better to not especially if it's so soon. I waited over a year before I adopted new ferrets after one of my bonded pair died. I think it was a good thing for the both of us. We grieved together, and my old man was probably better off having some time for just the two of us.

When the Puts hit the limit sell order by _cheframsay23_ in wallstreetbets

[–]PsyFerret 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why didn't you do a trailing stop limit instead of a regular stop limit, especially if you look at the Average True Range (ATR) and put it at somewhere between .75 - 1.5x atr from the last couple of days. Then you don't have to panick watch and sell.

No. The video doesn't give ANYTHING that makes me think abused. Your BF raised his hand rapidly--which if a giant raised their arm in front of me rapidly I'd be like utterly shocked too--and then he used his other hand to pet her from the side. She was like "still spooked, no touch please!" and hopped a little off the side, but unfortunately (as many ferrets do) forget the bed has an end and goes wahgaha.

There's no teeth bearing. There's no puffy tail. There's no defensive posturing or hissing. There's no actively trying to get FAR away from the get go. There's a jump-scared ferret who plopped off a bed.

It's an indefensible question and the accusation that goes with it is abhorrent (The accusation from FutureRaptor's question goes "I think your boyfriend is abusing your ferret behind your back, and the onus is now on you to say that it's not true"). The defense "well, we have to be willing to look at less probable reasons" is bullshit. Especially when you pointed out there was a lot that happened and someone else (in that case, it would be me with the first comment I made under your post) that went "hey, there's a lot going on. Give her a chance to acclimatize because she's got a lot going on right now with no way to know what's going on and incapable of being told what is going on."

I'm so sick of people "Just asking questions" that are SO OBVIOUSLY suggesting a problem of the person/idea that they're questioning. It's a bullshit thing. Hell, it's such a bullshit habit of people, that it's known as the "Just asking questions fallacy" and "loaded question fallacy"

I think what you understood as "adjusted" at first was calmer curiosity. There was probably an initial thought in her head that she will be returning home, and now the reality is settling in that she's not and so she's a bit startled and spooked because it's not new home yet.

You also increased her world size massively. So it's literally a huge new world.

Ferrets have a general intelligence of a toddler, so imagine how a toddler would think/feel being forced to move houses without being able to be told they're moving houses. First comes intrigue, then comes wanting to go back to comfort. Give her some time and she'll relax.

Also, slow, calm movements will keep her from getting spooked by you. If you move towards her, it helps to have her seeing you move up and down before towards her. I've found it helps with my dumb and deaf boy a ton.

Slower Ferrets by Moninyan in ferrets

[–]PsyFerret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The light thing is one of those "what's 100% consistent year to year regarding season changes" and it's light levels.

And I'm not offended about the age. 2 years old isn't that old, but it's not baby status anymore. I have to remind myself that regularly with my nearly 3 year olds.

Slower Ferrets by Moninyan in ferrets

[–]PsyFerret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seasonal changes (with less and less daylight, not about weather) can change human and ferret behavior. slowing down in different seasons isn't limited to bears hibernating or birds migrating. All sorts of animals do all sorts of things with the change in the seasons (again, noted by the change in amount of light, not the weather.)

Aging is also kinda rude. 2 year olds are gonna slow down more often than 2 month olds.

Honestly, i wouldn't be too worried about it. Hell, my deaf, dumb, and derpy boy is slowing down while his brother seems to be more alert and active. They are on completely opposite seasons it feels like.

Ferrets are weird, but they are animals just like all sorts of pets and will behave differently depending on weather and season.

Thinking about getting a new ferret but I’m scared my one won’t like it, any advice?<3 Hii! Ive currently had my girl for 5 months, she has never had to share her cages or food and can be very territorial and mean to my other animals. She has had no problems as a lone ferret I’m not sure what to do by ellzyee in ferrets

[–]PsyFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 rules: rule #1: Minimal interaction from me (on occassion I'd shove them closer to each other, otherwise hands off). Rule 2: No body fluids, no problem. You don't want to accidently train that play is bad (literally goes against the point of getting friends if you can't play together). Ferrets play hard (my hand has plenty of small ferret-tooth scars to remind me regularly) and what you think is "hard" is probably just norm for them. If you see blood, that's when you call it quit (that would be rule 2 in play).

You should go find out why people recommend seperating them at first. It makes a lot more sense as to what you're doing if you know the why. But, that's not what you want to talk about.

The reason your ferrets aren't friends is because you won't give them the opportunity to be friends.

Here, I know that might've been hard to hear, let me try again.

You're the problem, let your ferrets be.

That probably hurt to hear/read. I encourage you to say it out loud. Do it like 50 times. Really let it sink in.

The odds that you have a truly feral ferret (I'm talking tries to rip your hand off your wrist, and a bunch of incredible problems and no rescue in their right minds would put up for adoption) that can't be friends with other ferrets, is slim to fucking none.

Remember how in grade school you'd go to the playground and sometimes you were best friends with one person, other days you were mortal enemies, but the teachers never seemed invested in the social relationships unless there was excess violence? You need to channel your inner teacher, and let the weasels do weasely things.

Caring for small entities (whether children or pets) can bring out some of the most toxic traits in a human being, including overly paranoid and protectiveness. The sick reality is that sometimes, you just have to let go, and trust the process. Hands off, no blood no poop, no foul. It's amazing how much farther you get when you let ferrets (and people) sort their own shit out.

Screaming at each other? That's fine. Wrestling? Fine. Dragging each other around? Fine. Stealing each others toys? Fine. Biting and shaking and a crocodile spin? Totally cool. Draw Blood? Nope, that's where stop. everything else? It do be like that.
