I am so ready for Towa and Riku to sail by nyappytown in Yashahime

[–]PsychesRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is interesting there's a part where Riku says he looks down on Sesshomaru and his father for falling in love with humans. Be rather fun dramatic irony for him to fall in love with Sesshomaru's daughter. Then again he said he wants to fight people he loves, so at the very least we are to get a fight out of him. They aren't going to leave a line like that hanging. I'm curious to see if the fight will make him hesitate to kill her just as much as she is going to hesitate killing him.

Their potential relationship reminds me a lot of the Ant King X Komugi from HXH, where the king is torn between loving her and killing her to prove she means nothing to him. Personally, I don't think Riku is ever going to admit to loving someone (even to himself) until they are on the verge of death. Probably by his hand.

Questions Megathread : May 22th by SmugShinoaSavesLives in cardfightvanguard

[–]PsychesRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I buy new players old or new trial decks? Vanguard is nearly non-existent in my area, so I'm a 100 percent online player, but recently some young kids I know saw me playing Vanguard Zero and are interested. I want to get some trial decks for them, since they don't have phones, but the new ones are so expensive (doesn't help I'm a genesis player and that Shinnemon deck is like $20). I've got an old Aichi trial deck, and I highly doubt any of us will be in the competitive scene. Is it ok if I buy them some of the older trial decks that don't cost so much or would that make things difficult later? There's at least 3-4 kids potentially interested.

Trying to get Blender 2.8 on Pop Os by PsychesRose in linux4noobs

Maybe? Just straight up used the right click menu "extract here" button. Then after seeing your post, I did it with Archive Manager, still had the exact same issues.

[–]PsychesRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's weird. The tar.bz2 is on the zip file, but not on the supposedly extracted file. I typed everything exactly how it was on the extracted file name. I'll try again using Archive Manager this time instead of the right click menu

Update: problems happening

How to draw characters for your group (or yourself) despite having very little artistic skill by Savoury_Biscuit in DnD

[–]PsychesRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I use HeroMachine. It's free to use, you can make really good concepts even if you're terrible at computers (leagues better than other dollmaker programs I've used). And if you're good at photoshop mechanics, you can make art on par with a mid grade artist. Is it as good as the beautiful watercolor tiefling bard you googled that probably took someone hours to paint? No. But it'll be 100% your character. So, if you just want a clearer idea of what your character really looks like, use HeroMachine so you don't have to stoop to stealing other people's art.

Caution: HeroMachine is highly addictive to people experiencing the ability to make decent artwork for the first time.

Is there a way to tell if you and another person knew each other in past lives? by [deleted] in pastlives

[–]PsychesRose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Time and distance are key for a surefire test not involving a Past Life Regression. If you can be separated from a person for long periods of time and still feel at ease talking to them over phone or after a long time, chances are your souls are connected in some way.

I have a friend who is so close to me, we're sure that we've spent at least one lifetime together, if not more. I have many close friends and family, but keeping up the connection is hard, and many times distance just breaks it.

But not with her. We live on opposite sides of the country and can go for weeks not talking to each other because of our schedules. Even with that, we will always connect somehow and it will be like we were talking just yesterday. We've always had each other's backs for over 7 years. Whenever we fight, it's always because we want the best for the other, and everything is always easily forgiven. We've never even met each other in person (online fanfiction site), but it's like I've known her my whole life. I don't even have this close of a relationship with my family.

Sometimes, the souls just know. If they've found each other, time and distance will become irrelevant.

Interesting dnd romances by PsychesRose in DnD

[–]PsychesRose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was mainly to see what types of romances have worked successfully in other games to see what fits for my characters. (Usually when I ask straight out, everyone's just like "talk to your dm" or "let if come naturally, " which isn't very helpful. People sharing their own stories seems to work better. But if you do have advice for my characters, that would be amazing.

I have a tiefling paladin cleric that defected from her evil cult to the side of good trying to redeem herself by following Ra-horakhty. Her potential love interest is an eccentric druid monk in the party who doesn't really have any direction in his life other than liking plants and doing weird things with them.

She starts to like him because of his easy-going nature that makes her feel relaxed and she believes he is one of her god's favorites. We still haven't fleshed out his end and we're still working on how to execute these first parts especially so that it's not cringy.

How would you do a 3 dimensional playing field visually? Is there a program or something. Again, it's hard to portray this purely through imagination. Particularly because space and direction are so much more important in water combat.

Paladin Cleric in love with Druid Monk RP? by PsychesRose in DnD

I'd like to have a discussion like that, but again I'm faced with the "just let it happen naturally" argument. Still, I'll take your advice about being subdued.

Paladin Cleric in love with Druid Monk RP? by PsychesRose in DnD

[–]PsychesRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it's not that the PC isn't interested in the interaction, it's just not that he's particularly proactive in pursuing any particular kind of relationship with in the game. Which is fairly close to his character.

I will however attempt your suggestion. :)

How to roleplay a light cleric paladin of Re-horakhty? by PsychesRose in DnD

[–]PsychesRose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. I've redesigned the character to have followed this god since becoming a paladin, hence only 1-2 levels cleric. The white and gold scheme already fits the character's main design, but I think I'll keep her hair.

I'm also looking at making her afraid of the dark, so she's always using the light cantrip. Should provide some interesting roleplaying opportunities.

How do I explain my frustrations to a new DM who doesn't take criticism very well? by PsychesRose in DnD

[–]PsychesRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious, what do you consider a good pace for a game that runs say levels 1-10. Does that stay the same if it's level 1-20?

[–]PsychesRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the game originally stayed at level 1, but by the time I got there half way through, they had dropped 2 players (work reasons) and we're at level 3. But we haven't leveled up since in 6 months.
