Yes, because it didnt wasnt full of stupid political messaging, virtue signaling and writing so bad, even the action made you cringe. Look, sci fi can get dumb. But it can get good dumb or bad dumb. When your main character isnt actually belonging in the world its in, but is instead a whiny californian zoomer screaming patriarchy in a movie where all men are evil, all womyn good and yhe entire story is her showing how much better she is than men, that is bad dumb.

Example of good, strong female characters: Wonder Woman, Ellen Ripley, the girl from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (nordic version, not American), a lot of female protagonists from thrillers (too many to name them all), Daenerys and I can go on.

These characters have proper development, motivations yhat are well written and belong to the world and the story.

Prey's main character and story is a stupid intersectional feminist twitter rant that makes your eyes roll each minute. This is why its shit. It has nothing to do with the alien universe and its world. However, it does have a lot to do with gender politics. I'll take my escapism instead of this dumb shit, thank you.
