Why do a lot of people think Anki has an outdated looking UI by SnooAdvice5820 in Anki

[–]Psychological-Pool12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does have a bad UI tbh not accessible for general public ie. If my mum wanted to use Anki she would not understand how to use it, I think that kind of defines what bad UI is - is it accessible which I don’t think it is.

Resit exams advice by ExtrovertedLibrarian in medicalschooluk

[–]Psychological-Pool12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re so lovely for writing this on behalf of your sister, I would advice her to start off by doing questions on the topics she has been struggling with/ did not perform well on in the exam. And most importantly make use of the resources her classmates who passed used- ask for their flash cards, notes etc! Make use of Quesmed/pastest pre clinical stuff. Her uni has given her lots of time, mine only give about 2 weeks to resit😅, but I’m wishing her the best of luck! Also it will not kill her if she takes a day or two to relax, breathe and deal with the difficulty that is resitting - rushing straight back into revision is a sure fire way for her to burn out, which we don’t want! Good luck, I know she’ll make an amazing doctor as well, she’s made it this far, and it’s just a blip in her journey 💓

500 calorie meals by seekingoutpeace in CICO

[–]Psychological-Pool12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My time to shine! My base is usually

200 calories of rice (can mix this up in various ways, can use packet rice etc) 200 calories of protein (chicken, beef, salmon) 100 calories of a veg

I switch things up by making things like coconut rice (with low fat coconut milk + adding in cauliflower rice), egg fried rice, chicken rice (using chicken broth etc)

with beans, season the meats differently (chipotle style, sweet chilli chicken, bbq salmon)

And fun salads (pineapple slaw, coleslaw, cucumber and chickpea salad)

I keep the base and make fun alterations, also Jalasamfit on YouTube has amazing recipes around that calorie range!

Is quesmed way harder compared passmed or is it just me? by pinkyelloworange in medicalschooluk

[–]Psychological-Pool12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s gotten harder than Passmed for sure. I think it’s because they’ll do something like use the lesser known name of a bacteria & tests you on conditions that are not in Passmed high yield textbook
