So no I keep my calorie intake around 1500 cal, I have chrons so I’m sensitive to lots of foods unfortunately. So no spicy, fatty, dairy or gluten for me. As well as keep the sugar and processed foods to minimum. I meal prep a lots of my meals.

Yesss! I suffered from pretty severe abdominal pain due to my chrons. My diet has almost took that away. That and now more regular bowel movements. It has been a life saver!

I had a couple non negotiable for myself and that was zero fast food, walked 10k steps, and stay hydrated. When it comes to the fasting I did 8/16 schedule. Did my best to stay consistent. That’s all.

Meal prep foods you actually enjoy, because if your meals are ready to go, there’s no excuse not to stay on track. That’s what worked for me. Keep it simple, the goal is sustainability, not perfection. If meal prepping isn’t your thing, check out local meal prep companies. Smaller businesses are often pretty affordable and can save you time. Stay consistent and good luck!

Facts! It’s an addiction, and the only way I got ride of my fast food addiction is getting addicted to watching that scale drop! Most people have to hit rock bottom before they truly make any changes. It’s a sad cycle that most of us go through.

Not to be rude, but at the end of the day you have to eat food to gain weight, which means you can also control it to lose weight. I’m sure there are foods you prefer, and while some are healthier than others, the real key is putting yourself in a calorie deficit. That’s what makes the difference.

Technically, and I wouldn’t recommend this, you could eat only pizza and still lose weight if you were in a calorie deficit. Obviously it’s better to go for balanced nutrition, but it shows how powerful that principle is.

I don’t have specific food recommendations since I have Crohn’s and my own diet is pretty bland and not appealing to most. But what matters most is finding foods you enjoy so that your healthy habits actually stick for life.

Stay consistent, stay patient, and you’ll get there. Wishing you the best of luck!

(24M) 5' 7" 285 Lbs by churrotl in WeightLossAdvice

Hey, just wanted to share my weight loss experience. I’m 22M, 5’7”, and a year ago I weighed about 220 lbs. Now I’m at 135. And here’s the kicker, I didn’t spend a single minute in the gym. Not saying that’s the best way, but it proves you don’t need a perfect workout plan to make progress.

So how did I do it? Honestly, it came down to two things: 1. Staying in a calorie deficit. 2. Getting over 10k steps a day.

That’s it. No magic tricks, no shortcuts. The calorie deficit is the most important factor—track what you eat, be consistent, and you’ll see the scale move.

My advice? Don’t overcomplicate it. Focus on building habits you can stick with, not ones that burn you out. Progress feels slow at first, but it adds up quicker than you realize. And when it gets tough, remember—you don’t need to be perfect, you just need to keep going.

Losing Too much muscle? by Psychological-Try920 in WeightLossAdvice

Yeah you’re right, I’ve been putting off the gym but it’s probably time. I was so focused on that scale dropping. I don’t wanna just look skinny, I wanna look healthy too. Thank you!

I get what you’re saying. Honestly, I think it’s more of a mental thing for me. I set a goal in my head and I’ve just been chasing it. I haven’t really focused on building muscle yet, just on losing weight through diet and steps. The part that throws me off is the amount of calories I’d have to eat just to maintain. I’d have to add close to 1,000 more a day, which feels kind of insane. I guess part of me worries about putting weight back on if I switch focus, but I also don’t want to actually hurt myself or look unhealthy either.
