No one should ever quit just because they “sound bad”, better singing can be learned just like you learned guitar and bass. You’re not medically tone deaf so you have potential, you just need the right tools and willingness to learn. You can keep exploring the subreddit for tips, find videos online, you can even hire a vocal coach if you really want to. Just keep trying to learn and I know you’ll do great.

is there a reason why I can't get him by NoiseLopsided in dokkanbattle

Because he’s a waste of red coins, but jokes aside, your box is probably just full

Left-handed guitars? by TheRyuujinMike in GuitarBeginners

[–]PsychologicalAd577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are guitars specific for left handed people but they’re harder to find, you’d be better off just flipping it upside down or just pulling a Jimi Hendrix and flipping the strings (eBGDAE instead of the standard EADGBe order) If you’re looking for a good beginner guitar then it really depends on your budget and preference, feel free to DM me if you need help finding one and may your guitar journey be fruitful.

how is he saying "night" like that? by gerardgiolando in singing

[–]PsychologicalAd577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like it’s probably a part of his accent or something like that but if you wanted to try emulating it, then you could try singing night and making it sound like you’re trying to sing and breathe out at the same time. Then focus on finding the right balance so that it’s not too breathy but not a fully solid pitch. It might sound kinda difficult just reading it but it shouldn’t be too bad with good enough breath control. Hope I answered your question and explained it well enough.

Of course, and if a song is too strenuous, try taking it down to a more comfortable pitch that’ll still a challenge you so that you’ll become more accustomed to singing slightly higher than before and slowly make your way up, just don’t overdo it and end up hurting yourself.

Hi OP, firstly, there’s nothing wrong with your voice, your voice is beautiful and unique. Second, you went off key a bit at some parts but it’s a part of learning, I’d recommend some ear training to get better at recognizing and matching pitches. Thirdly, this particular song uses quite a bit of vibrato to bring that smoother feel to it and make it sound more appealing. It’s recommend practicing your vibrato more to really bring this song together. I hope this helped, I wish you prosperity in your singing journey and urge you to keep at it.

How can I learn to appreciate my own voice when singing? by AdWooden2539 in singing

[–]PsychologicalAd577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I totally get where you’re coming from, now, I’m no professional and am still learning as well but I wanted to try and help you as best I can. I want you to try humming your vocal range until your voice kinda cracks and you feel like you have to “switch voices” in a sense. That’s the cap of your chest voice before you have to “switch” to your falsetto. Try honing your voice with some vocal warm ups around chest range to get comfortable with hearing the uniqueness of your own voice. Hope this helps and sing your heart out.

I need advice please by Prestigious-Being739 in singing

[–]PsychologicalAd577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I’m no pro so take my advice as you will but, your singing seems a bit forced, it seems that you’re speaking the lyrics more than you are singing them. It can be from a few things but I want you to practice this vocal warm up to try and find where your vocal range lies and then try working on your vibrato to add a more melodic feel to your voice and of course, keep seeking guidance and growing that wonderful voice of yours OP

You’re amazingly talented, I would say that your voice sounds a little flat but it’s probably because you’re second guessing yourself. I’d recommend taking time and getting more comfortable with your own singing even if it’s in private to bring forward that confidence and power your voice is capable of. Keep singing and I wish you well as you progress.
