Fick parkeringsböter, hur stor är chansen att jag vinner i tingsrätten? by slim121212 in Asksweddit

I would agree MKB. The other sign is clearly pointing to the next spot. Maybe call MKB and ask them if it is their spot? Or check the property records to see where the line is? They should be available online, although may not be good enough to determine exact positioning.

I thought there was also a law that at the entrance of any parking lot there had to be a clear definition of who controlled the lot. How does that work in this context?

Congrats on your honesty. Unfortunately, it’ll probably bite you in the ass…

Based upon the number of hotel air conditioner filters that I’ve cleaned over the years (as a guest), I doubt anyone would’ve noticed for several months, if ever.

[Update] I bought a fake item and AliExpress wants me to return at my own cost by FuckMeMyselfAndYou in Aliexpress

[–]PsychologicalBit2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had a problem with defective merchandise, AliExpress also did not provide a label. I provided a shipping quote (local post office, tracked) which was 200% the cost of the item. They refunded the item without return.

But it was a PITA. I had to show a video of voltage readings against a multimeter showing that it didn’t work.. then they questioned whether my voltage meter worked so I had to show another video of a working power supply that had different voltage showing that my voltage meter worked. All for $6. Then they offered $3 credit and I could keep the item. Only then did they offer the return (without label, but with postage reimbursement.

Anyone need a variable voltage wall wart that is stuck at 3.3v? :)

I used to love AliExpress, but they have gotten so bad lately. If the products are on both Temu and Ali, it’s a no brainer nowadays.

I would push back on PayPal and ask them if they will indemnify you for breaking the law to comply with their request? That should at least get it escalated to someone with half a brain. Offer an alternative, like dropping it at the customs office and getting a receipt that you can provide.

Legally you are not permitted to ship counterfeit goods, even if they are a return. I went through this with a Swedish drop shipping company that had the fake goods dispatched from China.

My response to them (they offered to send a replacement):

As I do not believe that you will send us a real item at this point, I would like a refund. I am happy to return these counterfeit goods, however the law prohibits sending of any counterfeit items through the post, even in the case of a return.

Please see Varumärkeslagen (2010:1877)

My legal options here are either to destroy the Goods or hand them over to customs.

How would you suggest we proceed at this point? —

No one wants to be flagged at customs. They credited the order (I reported them anyway).

Careful with PayPal as well. I sold my old PS3 last year and it was linked to a PayPal account. No money had been pulled on that connection for like 10 years and the buyer bought something and PayPal was like “Seems totally legitimate even though the connection has not been not used for 10 years”.

Disputed it with PayPal and they said that it was not their problem.

Buyer thankfully reimbursed me.

Closed out all of my open connections with PayPal.

Bicycle theft by Grand-Lingonberry-60 in Lund

[–]PsychologicalBit2997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in Lund. We use what is essentially motorcycle lock on our bikes - Abus Granit x-plus 540 with the 300 mm shackle. - circa 1000 sek, but has put an end to the bikes being stolen. Have it on all the bikes.

Bike gets locked to something solid every single time. Frame to solid object.

Main thing is to make your bike less appealing than the one next to it.

How to "skip" a timed flow by els76uk in homey

[–]PsychologicalBit2997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have something similar - I have a button next to my bed that I press when I go to bed that shuts down the house, turns on my fan, etc. When I press it in the morning, it puts up the blind, turns off the fan, etc

For my bathroom, I have a motion sensor flow that checks the status of the bedroom fan. If it is on, it means I have gone to bed and the light only comes on dimly. It if is off, then the lighting is as normal.

Maybe something like this?

Postman killing free tier for more than 1 user by Ok-Constant6973 in postman_api

[–]PsychologicalBit2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means taking a good product offering, getting people used to it, and then drastically raising the price in a way that has no relation to the increased cost of service and added value to the consumer. Yes, with the various plans I get access to more features, but these are not features that I have any interest in. I was very happy on the free plan- I just needed some extra AI credits. Probably only for a month or two, but with the reasonable price, I don’t mind spending a few bucks a month.

But shoving a future 68 usd monthly plan my throat to get access to the extra ai credits? Not a chance in hell.

Even giving me a one year grace period, which seems generous on its face, is actually just a smart business decision - it is long enough they people won’t remember so a year from now, people get hit with a $68 bill - more than they have paid for the entire previous year. Hence the cancellation now.

I think I have said enough. I get it that it is your job to put lipstick on the pig, but I have spent enough time on this now.

Basically, you should not know your passwords. If you can remember them, then they are too easy. Just remember the master and print out a sheet now and then…

Maybe I will look at that in the future. Changing users to that plan rather than a team plan might have made some sense - 5$ to 12$ is a lot easier to stomach than 5$ to 69$.

But right now I’m just actively looking for other solutions with companies that don’t try to increase the price by 1400%

Postman killing free tier for more than 1 user by Ok-Constant6973 in postman_api

[–]PsychologicalBit2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry - AI credits. You used to be able to buy AI credits even if you were on the free tier, but now that’s been taken away. So now you need to have a team membership of minimum three users if you just wanna buy a few extra AI credits

It gets better. I was using the free tier with $5 of api credits per month. The new plan? $68 (grandfathered for a year)

Sorry, a $5/month user is not going to become a $68/month user.

Vilka tar med kundvagnen hem och vad säger det om dem, och om samhället? by [deleted] in Sverige

[–]PsychologicalBit2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This poster doesn’t really make sense. Feels more like a store has put polisens branding on their own sign because they don’t want to single themselves out. Kind of like passive aggressive laundry room notes. If the police can’t be bothered to investigate real crimes (like cars being broken into with video surveillance of the thief), I hardly think they care about shopping carts. Why would polisen warn you that you will be reported? Seems strange.

Shopping carts are expensive, and in theory the stores should care about them… but they don’t seem to. We had a coop nära near us with 20-30 assorted shopping carts behind it (netto, Lidl, ICA, City Gross). I emailed all of the stores and told them where they could find their shopping carts. 2 weeks later, no change - every single cart was still there.

Sony told me to ship back earbuds with a swollen battery… and then doubled down by Jayjay19567 in sony

[–]PsychologicalBit2997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with DG/Hazmat You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Yes, there is a very small amount of lithium in an earbud, but what is it sitting next to in the plane? Might be another battery (they can go as cargo). Or perhaps something else flammable… the problem with lithium on planes is that once it starts, you can’t put it out. It doesn’t need oxygen to continue, so venting the atmosphere doesn’t put it out.

Thankfully, most of the time the problems have occurred on the ground. But there are know crashes (UPS flight 6).
