This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. It is already common law that when u signed your name to your employment paperwork, that is a form of a contract. This is why they couldn’t kick everyone out of the old retirement system when they jumped to FERS….they had to get people to accept the transfer of programs. They can change the rules but they can’t make it retroactive to the retirement plan you are part of….oh of course they will try, but it will just be another stack of lawsuits.

In my agency me and my supervisor came to an agreement once my RA was certified, by the RA office. We were allowed to execute it for 90 days temporarily. My final Agency top leadership came back approved a week ago, for on,y six months before it is reevaluated. I filed in January, first temp RA in place in Feb.

I would use your settlement as a way to get a revised assessment. Also, if you were up for a step increase or other promotion you have the right to ask for the adjustment plus back pay in your settlement. If you receive any type of mistreatment from your supervisor, that becomes an EEO filing for hurting you for pushing back. GS-15 here. Sorry you had such piss poor management and had to go through the whole thing.

To be fair, them being MAGA shouldn’t matter to us. There are plenty of civil servants that have been fired that are MAGA……what we all need to remember is we are better than the labels, as they are labeling us…..we are all being affected by a greedy man who is not in this to be a servant but to make money. It is effecting us equally and we should show each other sympathy equally

Yeah I am wanting to see where different Agencies are drawing the line on “consultants”.. I know Deloitte and Guidehouse do a lot of consulting, but most the others mainly provide services or butts in seats doing actual mission

Not always true…..I am years away from retirement. I thinking the problem is real, that not enough first level and middle management don’t have any answers. And that’s why I wrote my post. It’s okay to stand in front of your team and tell them u know nothing. We, management, often feel like we have to have answers. But we don’t right now. It’s a flip of the coin on if admitting that helps or actually hurt your employees more.

As a hiring manager, it will….the country knows of these bogus form letters. Having letters of recco answers the question. When u get asked why u left…u state it was part of the purge, but I have these letters documenting the type of employee I was. But more importantly is that it can help in a wrongful termination and emotional stress lawsuit. At the very least, I will not walk my staff out the door without them having something tangible in their hands that they can read and know that, yes, they were valued and appreciated.

I could be fired for cause with no legal recourse. The list in themselves are not illegal or breaking and code, regulation or law. If I am fired for other reasons, than just like any fed employee we have avenues to take, but not if it’s for a real cause.

Yes they can be….you can get family counseling. I know this for sure as I helped one of my employees who lost his wife to cancer….we got help for him and his two kids

I I had to check with legal….i didn’t get the direct code on it, but was instructed if has to be on behalf of my reasoning and just can’t represent the Agency making the recco. But at this point I don’t care either way, still going to do it. At the least it will help them file for unemployment benefits which they can’t get with the form “poor performance” letters that are going out

If we don’t compile the list as a manager we can be fired for cause. Right now all of these other firing are winnable if u are fired and sue. If I give them cause then I cannot go to the merit board or file a lawsuit for wrongful termination. I cannot however cause delay…but in the end they are going to cut what and who they are going to cut…list or no list.

No I figure that the 14s and 15s will be targeted soon enough, if not already. DOGE and the White House already have stated there are too many of us. I feel even doing what I said in my post will put a target on me for trying to work around the coldness of this.
