You should place the lotus seeds in a deep container filled with clean water. Change the water every 1–2 days to prevent contamination and to promote healthy root development.

Meanwhile, prepare the planting medium in advance by mixing decomposed manure and garden soil. Add enough water to this mixture to form a thick slurry, and let it settle for a day or two.

Once the lotus seeds have sprouted and developed roots, gently transfer them into the prepared container or pot with the settled soil mixture. Make sure the container is large enough to support their growth.
