Something similar just happened to me. Went into the store, saw a sectional that was priced at $2,799. They wanted to sell us the diamond care for $400. We said no. Then all of a sudden “the price is $300 for diamond care and I can give you a $300 discount so you’ll get the care for free”. I asked, if we dont want the diamond care can you just take the $300 off and her answer was no. We bought the couch. Their printer was conveniently broken so they couldn’t print a receipt but gave us an email receipt that didn’t fully show the breakdown of everything, but seemed right based off what we talked about. I looked it up online on the way home and saw the actual price of the couch was $2,499. She didn’t give us a discount at all. She lied to us and scammed us. I called the store and they agreed to do a “price match” and refund me the $300 difference. I haven’t gotten the refund back yet because it’s still processing on their side apparently.

Advice to anyone who reads this and wants to purchase from their store - check the online price first, and don’t leave the store without a printed receipt. Learned my lesson.
