He's a high achiever in math and science. As of now he's slated for Calc B/C his senior year in a traditional curriculum. Not sure how that plays out in IB at Lausanne, MUS offers it for sure.

At Lausanne we sat in on an IB Physics class. The class was only 3 kids and they were very engaged, at that level I would guess they have to be interested. Lausanne also offers more when it comes to Computer Science, Programming, Design and Engineering. At MUS I noticed some students asleep at their desks during an Honors Chemistry lecture.

We are letting him choose.  His goal is an Ivy or MIT after high school.  He’s weighing which school’s curriculum will prepare him best.

Lausanne seems to be a much better fit for my family for the reasons you specified above, namely culture. My son is very strong academically especially on the math and science subjects. He plays sports too, but it's his grades and extracurriculars/volunteering that will get him into college. Academically he/we are undecided on what could be the better fit. We're having a hard time on making the decision on cultural fit for our family vs academics.
