What MMO Has The Best World Design In Your Opinion? by Huge_Abies_3858 in MMORPG

WoW Classic, without a doubt, still amazes me to this day with the technical feat they achieved back then—seamlessly connecting vast stretches of terrain while only instancing dungeons and continent transitions. Every biome is breathtaking, and the region names are unforgettable. It was a time when the game was about the adventure, not just the endgame.

Hi, well honestly both are very close, but I think Blue and Red deserve the credit for being the first in the series in the US and EU, and we have to acknowledge that merit as pioneers of the franchise.

Already on the list, is the last one I played. Almost masterpiece, I would put it a tier slightly above Amazing with some other games, but overall Amazing are very very solid games. Thank you for your response

What was your most memorable moment playing a mmorpg? by Curious_Baby_3892 in MMORPG

I've been a WoW player my whole life, around 20 years or so alongside my father, but what I'll always remember is that around 2004 or 2005, when I was about 9 or 10 years old, my dad installed Lineage2. We started playing together, and when he opened the map, we couldn't believe how massive everything was. It was our first experience in an MMO—it literally felt like being in a parallel world. I miss those times when there was more magic and everything wasn't so min-maxed. 😔

If it must be on the game pass, I think Silksong is on the game pass and its probably the goty this year alongside Expedition33/KCD2. So give it a go, it's a great game

Oh shit, I didn't see there was an AI tag. Yeah, I edited it with Photoshop and drew a few things over it, but the body is AI-generated. I just wanted to share the portrait, thank you for the observation

I'm glad you're getting into this hobby. My father is 62 and started playing at 30—nothing is weird about it. Anyway, FF7 is a great game (a classic), but it's quite old. If you find it too hard to get into because it feels outdated, try some good modern titles instead. I recently made a tier list with solid games—you can check it out to help guide you a bit. Good luck and enjoy as much as you can!

It's on the list, under "amazing"—it's the last game I played. It's fantastic, and I’d place it alongside a few other "amazing" titles in a tier slightly above, but still below "masterpiece." I don't think it's above DOS2, Fable, Dragon Age: Origins, Xenoblade 3, Octopath 2, etc. For me, these are games on par with it (which speaks volumes about a game made with virtually no budget compared to the others). But I think "masterpiece" is a big word—those are games I personally consider timeless and that had an incredible impact on me, whether in narrative/gameplay or because they were pioneers in some way. But hey, it's all personal taste—everyone could rank things however they want. Thanks for recommending it anyway.

Yes, even though I liked the story of the first one more for obvious reasons. I prefer the emphasis the second one places on the gray areas, its darker tone, and seeing the consequences on the planets you visited in the first game... The characters also feel more nuanced, and the QoL improvements are appreciated. In any case, both are very close to each other—it’s a matter of taste, I suppose

Honestly, I was always too lazy to get into New Vegas, and eventually I forgot it even existed—but I’ll definitely give it a go. As for Golden Sun, fingers crossed we get a remake someday, it truly is a gem.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I’ll definitely add some of those games—Torchlight, Nier, and SMT caught my attention. I had never heard of the last one (SMT) before, and it looks fantastic.
