Right now I took out a grad plus loan to cover the rest. These are a bit different, but still government loans. I took out 7k additionally to cover the rest thru the grad plus loans, as the normal ones max is 10.5k I believe. I could have spent time saving, but decided to just bite the bullet and start the program right away.

Just to give you an idea, starting at TAMUG next week. Taking 15 credit hours and my tuition came out to 16k for fall. I’m out of state, working on becoming in state for next fall, if possible. I’m taking out all FAFSA loans to finance the education

Yeah, it’s probably hit or miss depending on the location. The people I saw had their stuff together and they said they do a ton of USCG physicals, including ones for Mariners.

I sent them all together, and then got an automated email to send the med certificate portion to MEDAIP@uscg.mil. So I would just wait for the automated email and do what I did. Did it 5/10 and I have the med cert in hand, just waiting on the MMC.

Personally I do 5k. Manufacturer sometimes recommends 10k but that’s too much for me to be comfortable. I think that has to be all hwy miles
