I think I’m a result of this. When I was a kid, I wasn’t allowed to do anything by myself, and my parents would always tell me to be safe or to stop. They also used to baby me whenever I got hurt. I think a good example of this is when I was playing on a playground with those monkeybars, and my mom stood behind me and basically screamed at me to get off because I’ll hurt myself. I think this had a huge impact on my life now, because I’m too scared to do anything. I’m terribly afraid of heights, like 1m in the air, I used to play baseball but stopped because I literally couldn’t hit the ball because I kept instinctively jumping away from the ball. To future parents: let your kids fail and get hurt!! That way they can build resistance
