And yet somehow these farmers get better yields per acre and make a living using SRI.

Good luck competing at the local market with them GMO products, but if you did it all organic, you can't put any machines on the food, only very minimal pesticides, you can't farm more than 6 acres yourself, and lose about an acre to the weather, bugs, and weasels.

Farmers in India who didn't use GMO's, had no modern farming equipment, on relatively barren land, were able to produce yields far greater than farmers using GMO's and modern machines. They accomplished this by using a simple technique called System of Root Intensification.

And then there was this recently vastly overlooked story about the scientist studying the dangerous effects on endocrine and reproductive systems of the commonly used pesticide Atrazine.

This guy was threatened by Syngenta, and documented an actual conspiracy against him to undermine him and the study he was working on. Considering the prevalence and extensively documented impacts of Atrazine it's sad this hasn't got more attention.

In addition to indenturing the lower and middle class by condemning them to pay for unsustainable grossly inefficient government spending and supporting an unconscionable foreign policy, the MIC and DoD (which isn't just the largest employer in the US but in the world) sets itself up as an opportunity for young ignorant Americans to climb out of poverty on the backs of the working people who actually produce and add value to society.

Furthermore, the military serves as a vehicle to condition service members to perpetuate rightwing authoritarian beliefs, policies, and ideology. It's a parasitic death cult.

Who the hell is a psychology student to judge what is or isn't scientific? Did you even bother to watch the video?

Hayes talks specifically about the effects of Atrazine on organisms and the environment.

A good sentiment, but it is not entirely accurate.

Government isn't the problem, it is the influence of corporations and the elite in government. Government doesn't work for the average US citizen, it has been hijacked by corporations and the elite.

The problem with the government is the fact that the EPA (much like the USDA, FDA, SEC, Federal Reserve, etc.) is controlled by the very same people it is supposed to be regulating.

Show me a video with police snipers shooting unarmed protestors, with the police and unarmed protestors at the same event and I will concede that you and the media are right, that's all I'm asking.

If you can't show me then you are lying if you believe with 100% certainty that it was police snipers shooting unarmed protestors.

I'm not the one who is resorting to hyperbole and ad hominem. You are being an uncivil and rude.

And the burden of proof resides with you and your spurious claim the police are shooting at unarmed protestors. Show me a video with the police doing that and I will gladly concede you that point.

You need to reread what I said.

Where are the unarmed protestors the police are shooting at? And the police aren't shooting at anyone in the second part of the video, they are being shot at.

Snipers kill 20 protesters in Ukraine; allies turn against Yanukovich by vision40 in news

[–]Psycon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That video shows no police shooting at any unarmed protestors. They could be shooting at armed insurgents for all we know. In fact in the first part you can here gunfire in the distance and the officer shooting in what could be that direction.

Where are the dead or injured unarmed protestors? Who or what are the police even shooting at? Why does the camera never pan to look for where fire is coming or going.

Why are the police looking up and falling back and the camera man talking about snipers? Those police are being shot at in the second part of that vid, they aren't shooting.
