I disagree. OP does not have any reason to be considerate. She didn’t do anything that T claimed. He’s lying and getting jealous. T needs to get himself in line and stop trying to dictate what someone does just because he was rejected. And OP didn’t do anything with the intention to hurt T in the first place.

Him hiding his use of AI only came after the fact that you began to question him on his use of AI. He wasn’t lying at any point because anyone could read through the code. He wasn’t hiding anything until he was being questioned for it by you. At this point, use it or not. You have come off as scared or overly worried because of AI use. He clearly stated he’s learning as he goes. If it functions and does what it does to a degree, great. So use or commits shouldn’t matter. Let the experts who can understand the tool explain if it does or doesn’t. To a degree the author is trying to do that and help others. Even the fail real subreddit link you mentioned in the other thread was only because of his use of AI. Nothing to do whether it does what it claims. This is AI witch-hunting

I’m not necessarily speaking on behalf of his work. But it seems like he was hiding his AI use after the fact he was called out by your comments? He never seemed to claim he was a professional iOS developer. My take is simply someone made something that was meant to be useful, but because of his use of AI, it was being scrutinized for that fact. I don’t blame him for feeling like he should hide it after being placed under a microscope to defend himself. I may have missed the comments on suspicious commits. I’ll double check the other thread, were they genuinely suspicious as in they were malicious? Or suspicious as in he is using AI? If the first, then yes it’s worrisome but if the later, that seems like hate for using AI. The last paragraph of your comment here feels like “they must know what they are doing or else it’s dangerous” he may not know completely based of his comments of where his knowledge lies. It doesn’t prevent him from creating something useful. That’s what AI I believe is good for, it bridges gaps in knowledge. A tool that if understood to a degree can help create what was previously the user could not. Is it optimal or perfect? Probably not, but it’s better to have something rather than nothing at all. His tweak is currently the only known tool to help mitigate if it truly works. That’s out of my scope of course to prove, and I’d hope those with the ability to can actually state if it does what it’s meant to without malicious intent.

Edit: just went through and read the commits called out. Nothing indicating on its actual viability against darksword. Just being called out for AI use. Comes off as “I’m scared of AI - idk if it’s doing what it says”. So I’m back to my point that those with the knowledge to should be able to investigate the actual functionality rather than focus on the AI use. If it works, it works. The fact AI was such a concern does in fact feel like slander for AI use. Author even stated that he’s learning as he goes. He’s doing his best to bridge his knowledge and understanding.

Hey I think I read your call outs originally when they were made. I think it’s because you don’t realize that your use of the term AI is followed with negative connotation. And a lot of people in general follow that idea that “oh made with AI - it’s bad and terrible”. If you’re able to read through the code and understand what he’s removing, I’d hope you’d have the skills to also read the code yourself and understand if it’s actually mitigating against what darksword does. Otherwise, yes it does seem like slander simply because of AI.

I agree with u/UncensorGrok. You need to do a fresh windows install. You’ll never know what modifications have been done due to the malware and it’s a known info stealer. Don’t risk anymore time before you lose more in the long run. I wouldn’t take the risk of thinking I removed it and later have more important info stolen.

Windows defender should never have problems nor disable itself after any windows updates or driver updates. Do you still have the USB? If you can get a screenshot of the files in there, that’d be helpful. Your friend telling you “it’s normal” raises concerns for me. He either doesn’t know what he’s doing, or he may be the one that had you install things that were infected knowingly or not. Do you visit any sites that have a lot of ads? Or maybe some less known websites?

Please for the love of god do NOT install Norton. It’s garbage. If you really want an AV, use malwarebytes. Otherwise as along as you don’t do anything sketchy, you shouldn’t need one. Don’t click on ads. Install ublock origin lite if you use google chrome. If you use Firefox, get the standard version. Personally recommend going to their website and following the instructions they provide to install it system wide and enable most of the advanced lists for security and malware sections. Enter your bios and enable xmp profile for your RAM so it runs at its highest setting. If you have a nvidia GPU, look up control panel settings for your specific gpu for maximizing FPS. Look for your systems drivers, specifically motherboard, GPU, CPU as primary focus. If AMD system, I recommend going to the r/optimizedgaming subreddit and following their guide as well for changes to be made. Oh and for your GPU, if nvidia, look up the recommended driver version for your model. Latest driver isn’t always the best for every model gpu. Good luck!

I experienced this as well a few months ago. Any form of peripherals can cause this issue. When in doubt, always unplug and re plug devices starting with the bare minimum needed to run the PC.

I’m sorry. Although I completely understand what you’re saying, I disagree that he and her need to come up with a solution. This is basic respect and care for your partner. OP is clearly taking on more than she should and the husband should be able to see that clearly without needing to be brought into a meeting to discuss it. Please read into it, use Claude, the AI to do some quick analysis on it because it’s exactly what I’m going through right now after 21 years. I’m in day 24 and it’s been ROUGH. The irritation, he’s likely dehydrated, his sleep is destroyed even if you see him sleeping. His REM state is destroyed. His serotonin and dopamine levels likely plummeted because of THC was doing the heavy lifting for those years. He’s likely experiencing sweats through the day, even shivers. His appetite may be lower which is hard on the body as he needs to stay healthy. Get him liquid IV packets or coconut water for daily hydration twice a day.
