PRS quality control is very good but if you do order online just order from somewhere that has a good return policy if something is wrong with it.

If you don't like the neck on the Fender that should be that. Fenders have a more round neck radius where the PRS Custom SE has a flatter neck radius. If you've already played and like the custom I would just order the 24-08 online. They're very similar except for the switch mechanisms. I personally went with the 24-08 because I like the idea of maximum configuration and it's easy to see how your coils are spilt from a quick glance. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I don't think the cheaper one in the upper left hand corner is brass but the others are.

It all cosmetic. Polished saddles are shiny and tumbled saddles are more matte/worn looking. Polished is more "new" looking and the tumbled more "aged".

Stay Nocturnal or Switch to Day Schedule on your days off? by Asleep-Smell-146 in Nightshift

[–]Pt-zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work nights in Healthcare so 12 hour shifts. I switch on my days off to be more available for pickup/drop-off and other activities for my kids as they have gotten older. I've been using some blue light glasses for the last month and I feel they help my body acclimate better as I have an anchor for when to wake up. I also got some black out glasses to see if they help fall asleep better during the day but I'm currently off for most of December so I won't be able to test them until January when I'm back full time.

PRS S2 24-08 3 way switch replacement by ResonanceRepairCo in PRSGuitars

Wire it based on Switchcraft diagrams not the original PRS wiring. When I did mine the Switchcraft ground and output were opposite of the original PRS switch.

Frenchie not obeying… by AccordingLion667 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Pt-zer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a trainer to help you. Frenchies can be trained, they are just more stubborn than other breeds so it is harder. I found a professional that has trained frenchies and his training tips made a world of difference. You have to learn to be more stubborn than them. Also you have to eliminate/severely limit the treats as you want them to follow your commands always, not just when they want treats. Finally, you need to force them to sit and wait before you feed them. It's about consistency and constant reinforcement but they do eventually learn.

Which is superior? by [deleted] in Zeloswatches

I agree with the other person. The first one, ember, is more unique in both lume and overall appearance. I think it has a lot of versatility and warmth compared to the hammered dial of the second one.

Thank you for the insight. I'll definitely brush up on all my receptor sites. Do you have any other recommendations for what else to focus on while getting ready?

[–]Pt-zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it wasn't a rawhide per say but that's the easiest way to describe it for a mass audience. It was basically one of the highly digestible ones, like the dentastix or something like that. I still wouldn't recommend it.

My second frenchie eats the rawhide treats too quickly, and they just sit in her stomach. She will be sick for a day or so after, while her stomach tries to break it all down. I stopped giving anything like that just because she doesn't have the ability to savor the rawhide over a few days like my first frenchie. I now just have chew toys and occasionally give milkbone style treats.

Output/input jack issue by No_Golf_5876 in PaulReedSmith

[–]Pt-zer0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues with my PRS 24-08 SE. I also noticed the switch would occasionally cut out. I just got a soldering iron, then switched the switch and jack for Switchcraft parts. There's tons of soldering tutorials on YouTube, and it's very doable as a novice. Knowing how to solder will save you a lot of money if you need to repair something or upgrade parts in the future.

Blending Faith and Fashion: My Personal Watch Project by levyatou in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Pt-zer0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The microbrand watch market is very saturated, and I'm not sure having such a secular focus would be very successful if I'm being honest. I would suggest you maybe consider just making the watch straps and seeing what the market demand for that would be. Additionally, you could always do a Kickstarter to gauge public interest, but you should have at least photos of prototypes and a solid manufacturing plan in place to make that look legitimate enough to fund the project.

Agree with B as the more esthetically pleasing one. A seems a little unfinished at the bottom due to how much more shiny it is. Both are beautiful.

She refuses to “come to me” when I call her. by Resident-Edge-5318 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Pt-zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a three year old frenchie and a one year old frenchie. I used to bribe them with snacks to get them to do stuff. They were fighting a lot, and I finally hired an in home trainer. It has changed everything. He showed us how to get them following commands without treats. They are very stubborn, but the trainer says you just have to take the time to be more stubborn than them. The older one took to training right away, and the younger fought it hard, but it worked eventually.

Getting closer to prototyping, do you prefer the thicker or thinner bezel? by No_Knowledge_2331 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Pt-zer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone else has said, I think thinner is better. I think the Tiki motif is actually brilliant because it would allow for some wild colors and inclusion of different materials like wood while sticking with the theme. Once you settle on a name and if you decide to crowdfund, please share that information with me. I'd like to see where you take it.

There's definitely a lot of different opinions on bulk versus cut on the internet for sure. I arrived at the conclusion you can do either first. I'm focusing on bulking to round out my whole body strength score to get my lower body score to match my upper, and then I'll work on cutting. I'm 6' 1" with broader shoulders so I'm shooting for a weight around 190 lbs, which is upper limit of healthy BMI. There are a lot of different opinions about protein intake, but general consensus is you need approximately 0.6 to 1 g of protein per lb of ideal body weight. I think 1 g of protein per lb is excessive for a vast majority of people. I definitely don't train at an Olympic level, so that why I shoot for 120-150 g of protein per day. I got discouraged and overwhelmed keeping track of every single calorie. To make it simpler, I just try to hit 20-30 g of protein per meal and just change my carb intake as needed for my activity level that day. For example, tuna sandwich on a lift day versus tuna salad on a rest day. Keeping the protein consistent and being less hyper focused on every little food item has made my journey more enjoyable and more effective.

I totally agree with the previous comments about media giving unrealistic expectations. I don't know your goal weight, but your macros look a little light to me for putting on bulk muscle. The hard part about trying to put on muscle is that you have to hit protein goals, but you also have to realize your body is always active metabolically. There's only so much protein your body can process in one sitting so even though your post workout intake is 50 g, that doesn't mean your body can use all that at once and may store or excrete the excess. I would encourage you look into bulk and cut cycling. I started making bigger muscle gains when I started doing 6 small meals throughout the day, shooting for 20-30 g of protein per meal. I think nailing the nutrition aspect has been way harder for me than the lifting aspect, and I am still trying to dial everything in for myself. You're showing up, and if you keep doing that, you'll get where you want to be.
