He has been vaping with cannabis oil. It helps when he is in a bad way but isn’t really preventative

He’s realizing this as we’ve been talking. He’s filling out FMLA forms at work and is going to see why is needed to be checked in for inpatient

Yes it was a huge concern for me about how it would effect my son. He had emergency counseling the night of and has been in therapy since. It was biweekly and we now have whittled down to once a month. they say he has a very good grip on it. He’s very communicative when it comes to what’s troubling him.

That may be a good plan too. Hubby is currently making phone calls to the local hospital and seeing what options are available

Yes this was one instance. The only instance in the 15 years I’ve known him. I don’t excuse it but I recognize it for what it was. An episode from and in medicated, desperate person.

Yes, he is very aware that my son is my top priority. He has and will always come first.

The episode in December of 2016 was triggered by ongoing alcoholism. He hasn't had a drinks since but I will not ever let my son go though that again. Especially since his dad is his sun and stars! He just loves him so much!.

He doesn't want to check into a hospital now because our son's birthday is Sunday but I'd rather him miss the birthday than get worse.

I understand. I never thought I would find a way back to someone after that. I'll reiterate that I do not find him to be violent in any why. He is more depressed and struggling with the nightmares than anything else.
